Now that we’ve had infants for awhile, it’s starting to feel a little weird that there are so many early life stages, but after your sim ages up from child, they go straight to teen… which looks and behaves EXACTLY as adults do, with a small handful of exceptions depending on which packs you have. Children in the Sims 4 appear to be around 8-10 years old. So, for a sim like that to age up and suddenly look like an adult, maybe 17 at youngest, it just feels bizarre. It reminds me of when newborn babies used to jump out of the bassinet as children, long ago when we didn’t even have toddlers yet. There are some simple mods that will make teens shorter than adults, or add a couple gameplay mechanics, but it isn’t the same as a fully-fleshed life stage.
Picture this—a new tween life stage, released alongside a simple pack! Similarly to how infants were released next to Growing Together, I think it would make sense to give tweens their own pack. Tweens should experience similar problems to what teens have in High School Years and Growing Together (puberty, phases, mood swings and such), but there are some things that would make more sense for a younger teen to experience. A pack may include things like first crush, growth pains, new hobbies, and of course—middle school! I could also imagine there being a new online school mechanic, since it may too be repetitive to do a pack so similar to High School Years. In this case, instead of a full EP with a new world and middle school lot, there could be a tween-centric online school GP. Of course, online school would be an option for school-goers of all ages, and tweens would attend regular middle school by default.
Tweens could have a relatively similar frame to teens/adults, but it would be preferable if they had a unique frame and clothes. Conversions for certain clothing items (such as from High School Years) would be nice but not a necessity. Basically, it would be best if they had clothes that were just for them, to best suit the tween life stage. If possible, it would be nice if tweens had more options for body customization than children, but of course it’d be difficult for sim genetic reasons, so I realize that’s a tall ask.
All of these are just suggestions. To be honest, any new life stage between child and teen would be a blessing in and of itself, since it’s always been frustrating to me that teens are so similar to adults. I just think it would be nice to get some extra stuff too! If anybody has any other ideas for things to incorporate into a tween pack, I’d love to talk about it.

I would like a tween Life Stage maybe even with a pack as well, as well I was thinking for CAS like the rainbow core that they had but lost do Gothic kit they can bring that back but I would like to incorporate that style with all the ages in CAS also have some Lisa Frank inspired CAS and BB, I do like the first crush even when they get older call it childhood crush. I would like them to experience puberty like voice crack, moodlets like waking up developed in places, moody more then teens because they are first starting out with puberty. They can do things that kids can't do like play basketball, cook little things, hang out in the Jacuzzi, exercise, but still play void critters, the playground, activity table. Talk on the phone to friends, Also have Social Bunny.

yes totally, preteens/tweens itself should be basegame but i think preteens/tweens do deserves to have their own pack

I always felt a child going up to a teenager seems a bit of a jumping age from 9 to 18 or something like that I thought it’d be good to introduce preteens 12 to 13 year age puberty starting changes in behaviour it seems like a good opportunity not to miss out on

agreed, i dislikes the big age gap so there should be a lifestage between child and teenager so a preteen makes more sense this way

we need preteens and middle aged life stages
- sailorleontine4 months agoSeasoned Ace
yes to both of them, at least the age gap doesn't change much just like in real life👍
teens looks like adults and you can't do much once your sim change into an elder so there should be a lifestage which is a mix of adult and elder and even the gameplay is a mix of the 2 (same with preteens, it can have a mix of the 2 the child can do and some things teens can do once you turn into a preteen)

I would like a middle aged adult sim as well they can go into early retirement if the players allows and take of the elderly parents. Go on trips and just enjoy retirement life or like go to work half day, get Senior discounts.

Personally, I think EA should add a preteen life stage, which would be ages 9-12, I feel that the teen life stage more accurately reflects the 16-18-year-old age. And during the preteen stage, they hit puberty and get acne and maybe even girls get their period. It would make it way more realistic than just jumping from a child to a teen which looks like they are 16-18 years of age? I know that this is probably not going to reach the people it needs to reach but I hope that some people can agree with this because I hope this becomes a thing in the future. And yes, I know there is a mod for a preteen life stages but it never seemed to work for me.

Yes, I think we need a preteen lifestage in bg and a pack dedicated to them or mostly for them with other family aspects. I think the 80's/90's mall pack in last year's survey could be a perfect pack idea for preteens with new jobs like lifeguard, babysitter and newspaper person for preteens and teens, a school and mall lot type for all ages. Homeschool/online school should be a think. We could also get ballet, karate, trampolines, jump ropes, roundabouts, seesaws, skateboards etc. This would be one of my favorite packs alongside Growing Together, Businesses and Hobbies, Parenthood and Adventure Awaits if made.

I don't want another child lifestage before we get more adult lifespan. Already sims spend a third of their life under the age of 20, and die when they're the equivalent of 60. Before that gets fixed I don't want to make the child state even longer (making sims die even younger). I want my adults to be able to live until they have grandchildren, rather than die when the kids goes to university.
- Make the adult life stage last longer
- Add a late adult life stage between adult and elder
Then they can add other life stages, but not before then.

Why not add both I mean they're both inZoi definitely has both lifestages and I know Paralives has a preteen Lifestage I don't know about a Middle Aged Lifestage but I think it may be in the works for a future update.
Also a Preteen Lifestage has been asked to put into the game for years and years even before the Sims 4, infants was a surprise yes I know simmers wanted better babies but no one really thought about an infant Lifestage.

I don't mind both, but mostly I want to fix the balance of ages. A sim dies at the equivalent of 60 years of age. They become elders at 54. It's ridiculous. What I fear is that they add preteens without fixing adulthood.
