Re: About the Caribbean representation for The Sims 4?
Simmers... I don't know what to say, but... I'm sorry! This is extremely heartbroken to me and my fellow Caribbean simmers who are part of The Sims community. Starting 2019 after the developers recently added hip-hop station to The Sims 4 back in 2018, I began manifesting Caribbean representation for The Sims 4. When I speculate the summer expansion pack of 2019, I wanted it to be centered around Caribbean cultures. But no, instead, it is now titled "Island Living" and centers around Hawaiian/Polynesian cultures and features a Hawaiian-themed island radio station. Years later after R&B came to the base game back in 2023, I started manifesting Caribbean representation again when Poolside Splash Kit was announced. In 2024, I tried again before the release of Lovestruck expansion pack. In 2025 where the celebration of The Sims' 25th anniversary and TwitchCon's 10th anniversary, I tried again and again before the release Businesses & Hobbies, Enchanted by Nature, and Adventure Awaits expansion packs, but before the release of Adventure Awaits, these simmers powerfully kept spamming "fix your game" too many times. And when Adventure Awaits was leaked before the announcement, this expansion pack was not centered around Caribbean cultures which instead centers around New Zealand culture. Ever since Caribbean cultures was lacked, I skipped TwitchCon trip. In 2026 which is the year we're currently in, Royalty & Legacy was claimed to be the last expansion pack, and then no Caribbean representation happened for this pack. As Royalty & Legacy features a West African-inspired kingdom Dambele, it features an Afrobeats station which is a West African music station rather than Caribbean. After the EPs were stopped, more bug fixes are happening until EA went private.
I'm sorry to announce this to y'all simmers, but...
during the final time, I decided not to continue fighting for Caribbean representation for The Sims 4. My manifestation for my vibrant island-themed wish has come to an end for me, and I also decided to skip TwitchCon trip again before the end of 2026. So if 2027 comes, will the next generation of The Sims come?
