Re: Deck the Palms event missing in-game and can't claim rewards

Hi Sims team,

Please extend the Deck the Palms login event (or add a catch-up option) because a lot of players (myself included) didn’t realise until after 4 January that this event requires multiple logins across multiple days to unlock everything.

I genuinely would have participated properly if it was clearer. I logged in today thinking I still had time, and now I’m locked out of completing the set even though the event is still live.

There have also been multiple issues where the event didn’t appear or rewards couldn’t be claimed, which makes a daily login event even harder to complete.

Why an extension (or catch-up) would be fair:

The requirement wasn’t clear enough in game. If the daily login requirement isn’t shown prominently on the main menu or event screen, many players won’t realise until it’s too late.

It’s a limited time event over the holidays. People travel, work or aren’t checking Sims posts daily.

The deadline to start being earlier than the event end date is confusing. If the event ends on the 13th, it’s reasonable to assume starting after the 4th still gives enough time. Recent events have been more flexible, so many players assumed they could log in near the end and still catch up. This one works differently, and that difference wasn’t obvious.

It feels punishing to players who want to engage. This isn’t about not caring, it’s about not knowing the rule in time.

Many players also like to complete a full set of rewards, and it’s frustrating to be locked out permanently due to an unclear start by deadline.

Any one of these would fix it:

Extend the event window

Allow us to catch up by claiming multiple items in one day

Let the players who missed the start deadline to claim everything at the end

Why it matters long-term:
I love free events and want to keep taking part, but the current event makes it feel like you can miss out permanently without ever meaning to. An extension would help rebuild trust and show you’re listening.

If you agree, please give a thumbs up and comment so the Sims team sees this. They’ve extended events before when lots of players were impacted.

Thank you.

I’m in the same boat, I’m a collector and if I fully miss something in a game (timed event) because I’m busy with work/life in general it puts me off the game and leaves a sour taste. It’s like being punished for having commitments. Not only that this is the first time it’s log in daily over x amount of days instead of completing challenges. I liked the challenges!! EXTEND EA/SIMS TEAM

Please I’ll be forever grateful 🙏🏼 I’m going to miss out in 4 days worth of rewards please I beg have mercy I love this game!!

I, like many MANY other players, was not able to log in daily, or even weekly, over the holidays due to travel and real-life engagements. Particularly irritated about missing out on items that are in packs that I've already paid for and wouldn't be receiving because I couldn't log in regularly during the busiest time of the year.

I’m the same ☹️ really annoying as I like to complete all the events and this one will be odd one out not completed. Hopefully the sims team will see how many people are upset about it. It’s wasn’t clear that if you didn’t log in by the 4th you’d miss out

The instructions are so confusing. I've been googling and searching Reddit all day today to figure it out. Right now I'd be missing the last rewards batch because apparently I missed a day since the daily reset differs based on time zone. I thought it was a regular 24 hr window. It's the worst time to do an event like this with the holidays and then the "catch up" week is the week most people are going back to work. I missed a day or two after logging in Jan 4th because of this.

I thankfully heard from a friend that you had to open the game every day. But I did have an issue where the event kept telling me I had to wait 3 days to unlock the next item when I had waited longer than that! I totally agree that there should be a way to catch up as it's devastating to miss out on free items simply because of miscommunication or bugs! I would love to see an update that is retroactive and gives us all the free content that we've missed out on in the past. For example, I just started playing sims this last year, so all the events beforehand I will never be able to use! I can't even buy them if I wanted to, it's really disappointing that there's so many items I love but can never use. :(

I would also love an extension. I thought this was another event about missions that could be done in the last days, and because I was really busy with university and family during december, I decided to do it later. Sadly, today I entered the game for the first time and realized I was wrong and I can no longer get all the rewards.

This event should be extended until January 31st 2026. Majority of players had seasonal commitments (e.g travel & family obligations) where they did not have access to their ea account to login for these time-bound login rewards, so if ea was banking on a login engagement during this specific period they chose rather poorly.

Additionally, in comparison to other reward events where players could 'catch-up' to claim their rewards, this specific event is quite restrictive causing many players to miss out on claiming all items which creates barriers, particularly for console players.

Fully agree it needs an extension! I was also incredibly busy with the holidays. Not only did they make the event such a short time frame during a busy period, but it requires a lot of days people don’t have to log in. I also feel a little deceived with logging-in not being really clear to players. I was also under the impression that this was an event I could wait until the “end” to do.

please extend the event and then stop doing them!! The sdx drops were a lot more manageable and feel less greedy.

This was an awful time to do an event that required so many logins. The holidays are literally the biggest travel time of the year. I've only been able to unlock about half of the items due to traveling.

Please extend this!!!!  The text box that come up when you hover over a locked item that says to log in next week to claim this item is misleading!

How is about 8 log ins in a 5 week period so many? That is baffling to me. Starting from the 4th and going to the 11th is only 8 total log ins required. You don't even need to play the game. I am a busy parent, I work outside my home, and even had a very busy holiday time. It wasn't that hard. They have the limited time period to force engagement, most likely during the time is predicted that people will not have lots of spare time.

Have you not paid attention? some players have reported problems not receiving rewards despite checking in daily.

Your not helping by chastising other sim players for missing out due to seasonal obligations (who cannot bring along their PC/Console with them!!) or because the event is bugged in their game.

The issue is marked as solved. I predict the issue is something to do with the players timing, not anything else. The event has worked as intended, so I suspect it is user error rather than anything else.

I 100% agree that this should be extended. Not only were directions unclear and people have legitimate reasons for not being able to log on daily to claim (work, holidays, etc) it feels especially unfair for people like myself that have committed to playing this game for YEARS and have invested HUNDREDS of dollars by buying packs. Not allowing people who have purchased packs to claim the event rewards items that are specifically compatible with them is so offensive tbh. If I pay extra for an expansion I should be able to have everything that’s available/becomes available for it. I shouldn’t be punished because the team wants to force playing engagement; ESPECIALLY considering how many issues continue to arise with the game and company itself. The sims team has been saying for a while now how concerned they are with the community continuing to lose interest in the franchise. This is a prime example of why.

I'm dealing with the same situation! I was moving at the end of December and my computer was packed up for a long time while we sorted through everything. I thought it would be like every other rewards event, but now I will be missing out for the first time during these events!

I also only just learned today that this was a daily login event. I was incredibly busy over the holidays, hosting family in my home, then catching up at work after the start of the year, and I planned to play tonight to complete the quests. Thankfully I was at least able to claim the first batch of items, but it looks like I’m not going to be able to get the rest. I have wanted mittens for forever! If I had understood that all I had to do was login regularly, I would have done so, but since I assumed there would be quests, I didn’t think I had time to work on the event during the holidays. It was the worst possible time of year for me and so many others to have to login frequently. Logging in between Dec 24-28? Seriously? If I found myself ignoring my family to play the Sims on Christmas Eve, I assume the ghosts of Christmas past, present, and future would visit to teach me lesson. As someone who buys all the packs and makes personal sacrifices to make the time to play the Sims frequently, to have to miss out on unique game items because I had family obligations for the holidays, I’m just beyond disappointed. Like EA is saying no, you can’t have these winter holiday items in your game because you celebrated the holiday in real life! It feels deeply unfair.  Please extend the event!

I was sure it was the same event as always with tasks to complete. During the holidays I was busy like everyone here so I wasn't aware you have to log in daily. Also, I saw people saying they're only log once and were able to claim all awards while there were also people who did log daily and still weren't able to unlock everything which feels unfair. So please EA consider to extend the deadline for everyone. I know logging in shouldn't be a big deal, but not all of us have PC that handle game well so forcing players to log in just to claim the prize isn't the best idea. For some it might take a few minutes, but for others game doesn't open that fast. Besides, I'm sure EA team wants us to play the game, not just open it. And I'm pretty sure a lot of players will lose excitment to play when we can claim objects just because we missed deadline.

I 100% agree. It also said it ends on the 13th (today) but the event is completely gone for me! I literally only had two or three more items left. :(

I'm in the same. I thought it was ending on January 16 as well. I just connected today to claim what I had left, and realized it's over. I'm in the process of moving and did not have much time to just connect... I'm so annoyed 😪
