Re: Feedback: bulldozing lots from main world screen

@LadyAofPineapple  - I agree. A Bulldoze button would be a good addition for the Manage Worlds screen.

Why code a Bulldoze button that's accessible from the Manage Worlds screen?

  • To empty multiple lots without the need to load into each lot.
  • Bypass multiple loading screens.

The current system to Bulldoze multiple lots:

Starting from the Manage Worlds screen:

  1. Select Lot > Confirm
  2. Loading Screen...
  3. Bulldoze Lot
  4. Select Manage Worlds
  5. Loading Screen...
  6. Repeat

OPTION 1: Workaround

Preparation

Steps for creating an EMPTY Lot Library

  1. Find the smallest Empty lot (20x15 in Newcrest)
  2. Select Lot > Confirm
  3. Loading Screen...
  4. Save Lot to Library
  5. Exit to Manage Worlds
  6. Loading Screen...

EDIT: These steps no longer needed

  1. Naming convention is key.
    • Type "Empty" in each title for easy searchability.
    • Example: Empty 30x20
    • Searching for "Empty" will result with all Empty Lot saves to choose for placement.
  2. Repeat for each lot size  EDIT: j/k you only the smallest lot  EDIT: j/k you only need to save the smallest size lot.
    • 15×10 (Sylvan Glade)
    • 20×15
    • 20×20
    • 30×20
    • 30×30
    • 40x20
    • 40×30
    • 40×40
    • 50×40
    • 50×50
    • 64×64

Now your Library is ready for any variety of Faux-Bulldoze options to implement from the Manage Worlds screen.

Placement

From the Manage Worlds screen:

  1. Open Gallery - F4
  2. Go to your Library
  3. Select a saved "Empty" Lot by size
    Choose Placement option:
    • Place & Edit - One off
    • Place Lot - If placing multiple "Empty" Lots
  4. Select: Place Lot
  5. Choose lot to make "Empty"
  6. Click Confirm
  7. Pop-Up (Furnished or Unfurnished?) > Confirm
  8. Repeat for additional "Bulldozing"

OPTION 2

Create a Bulldoze Button clickable from the Manage Worlds screen.

  1. Choose lot
  2. Click Bulldoze

Which way seems more efficient?

Personally, I'm all for Option 2.

  • @Vyo4 You know... since placing a lot completely replaces the existing lot, for option 1 you probably only need to make the smallest lot - it will fit anywhere, and delete anything there previously, even if the lot is bigger.
