Re: My Young sims and pet ghosts just turned human.

@Nuke615 Hey there. Sadly you first have to age pets up to a elder. I had to do that with my Dog Samson from my Multigen save. Then go turn on cas.fulleditmode after using the testingcheats on cheat. cas.fulleditmode will also allow you change sims ages as well including pets. Then you can turn them into a ghost in cas. The only way to have pets as ghosts is if they are elders.

Thanks for the response.  But this dog had been a ghost for the last 6 or 7 years, and after the Oct 22 update, the dog was no longer a ghost.  CAS is not an option for me, cause I am using MC Command Center with max household set to 13. I have exceeded the default 8 max household members.  So, editing in CAS will not load all 13 members: only 8 random members. There's got to be a way to do this without entering CAS: I don't want to lose 5 household members if I save the changes.

The animal would have been an adopted pet to start with.  I'll have to give the animal a age up treat and make it an elder, and the below cheat code might then work?  This might be the reason the dog reverted to the living after the update (it was not an elder dog when created).

If you have other suggestions that don't require me entering CAS, then please advise.  Thanks

note: the cheat "traits.equip_trait_ghost_oldage DogorCatID#" only works on elder animals

@Nuke615 No Problem. If your using MC Command Centre you can use it to set your pets age in sim commands and it should be in maintain sim. After that go into mc cas then you should see the add traits. I have done it since I like to play households with more then 8 sims.

Thanks...I'll test that out...if it works...I will post here to let you folks know if it worked.

(edit)...I tested it using MC Command...aging up is still there, but the option for traits is not in the MC command center for animals that I could find in any of the options...MC's CAS is really limited to changing clothing only...I couldn't even change colors of fur.  MC updated the mod recently.

I found the solution though, thanks to you...see below.

Thanks Creeper...it was all about the age of the pet.

The solution was to age up the animal to elder and use the cheat codes below

1st, turn on testing cheats by entering" "testingcheats true" or "testingcheats on"

Then you need the pets ID number...you get that by typing:

    "sims.get_sim_id_by_name DogorCatsFirstName DogorCatsLastName"

That will give you "your animals" character id number (they are unique, so don't use what you see in my screenshots)

Then you can equip the trait of being a ghost by using this code:

"traits.equip_trait ghost_oldage IDnumber"    (My pets ID number was 19 numerical characters long)

Hit enter and the pet will turn into a ghost and still be in your family.  My family of 13 was preserved.  You can see in the screenshots, that the dog is a ghost and still in the household on the bottom bar

a weird thing i encountered is before the update i made a household with a ghost dog and a ghost horse, the dog stays dead as an adult, i got these animals off the gallery as ghosts, the the horse revives when i load the lot and because in the last save state she was in my entryway of my staired foundationed house mind you, she gets stuck inside. i don't get why both of them are not reverting just the one whos more inconvenient, like elder horses cant do as much, or so i've been told, so i want the ghost horse to stay an adult. was i told wrong and i can just remake her as an elder ghost in cas?
