Re: Sims 4 Multiplayer or Online

I love Sims 4 and have been playing since 2015 but I have always thought it would be even better with a multiplayer option. This would be so cool because finally me and my friends could collaborate, possibly build houses, and raise families together. The Sims 4 public could go to different places, creating a sense of community.  Overall I think this update is long overdue, and I'd love to see it soon.

I actually could not disagree more. I don't want to play with friends. The best part of TS4, for me, is that it's self-contained. I can download mods and play it MY way - and there's no one to judge. I don't have to worry about scheduling to be online to play with a specific friend. I can play on my schedule. If I want interactive play, there are plenty of games for that. If I just want to be left alone and unwind away from other humans? TS4 is my go-to. I'm afraid that adding a multi-player component would ruin the sims. It has never been an interactive game. I'm not sure why they want to change that now. I'm envisioning a hellscape of bald, underwear-clad sims whose CC isn't loading. I feel like too much would have to change - and too little would be locally customizable. Mod compatibility, for instance, would be a huge barrier. And they already tried The Sims Online. It was a huge flop.

That's why it should be a option. Like Minecraft.

I am just going to copy/paste my respose to the other Multiplayer suggestion thread.

I am not in favor of this added to Sims 4. A spinoff Sims title with multi-player is fine, but I play the Sims franchise because it is a single-player game. They did try that in the early 2000's, it was called the Sims Online. I have been playing games in the franchise since the first game in 2000. I skipped the Sims Online, because I just saw no point to it. I do not have friends that play Sims 4 and my family (my children) that also play the game also enjoys that it is a single-player experience on my profile. Creating the option also would take money away from making a better single-player experience, although Sims 4 was originally supposed to be an online game according to the research, which is why the sims in the game all feel the same and have no distinct personalities.

None of my adult friends play this game or make time for it. I enjoy playing alone and want to keep it that way.

Sims 4 was supposed to be an online, multiplayer game...Olympus ...if I'm wrong, someone will let me know ☺ That's why everybody's game looks the same.

It's hard to be creative in a game that looks like everybody's game.  This is why I still  play an older version of the game. I have complete creative freedom with sims 3 and my game is not going to look everybody's game online.

You are right. It was supposed to be an online multiplayer. This is why all of sims 4 gameplay looks the same.

Creative expression is lost with this version of the game and that is why I play sims 3 still. In sims 3 I can build my game exactly how I feel and play. Sims 4 stole that from the player.

The sims games in general are about universal personal expression and sims 4 missesd the mark.

Like mwsopa said, " That's why it should be an option. Like Minecraft". That's so you do not have to if you don't want to. It's just there for those who want it.
