Re: Sims 4 step parents

I'd like to see this too. Right now there is just the option with a household member to Adopt as Caregiver so where I have a single parent start a live in relationship, that option pops up when their partner speaks to their child. But I'd like to see a step parent addition instead. I'm on Console so mods wouldn't be an option but I'd like to see it added in a patch sometime.

I'm sure it used to be in a previous Sims game but can't remember which one.

@bloodlow02 and @simsplayer818 , I would like to see this too.  Sometimes kids in real life are close to their step parents, and I would imagine many players would want to reflect this in the game!

@PugLove888 Yes I agree. So much realism in terms of relationships has been added recently that this feels like a big omission. It just feels a bit strange when a child and step parent are just roommates now. I only have this situation where the child has lost his mother. So I created a household with a bereaved single dad and son moving in with his mum. Then he met a celebrity chef and got married. Then they had 3 more children. But his little boy wasn't given his Step mum in the family tree which made me a little sad. So I just got her to Adopt as Caregiver.
But I feel like the relationship maybe needs more work because of that, like the bar drops more quickly it seems, whereas the relationship bar maintains full status more easily between parent and child.

@simsplayer818 , yes, the quicker drop in relationship is a problem!😓  And @daikoyu , the flirting is an even bigger problem! 😰😖  Thank you both for mentioning these things! Hopefully they will add stepfamily member status soon! 🤞
