Re: Suggestion: tropical/indoor plants

@Jodyleigh1217 I like these ideas!! I would definitely like the butler and gardener to tag them as things they will help with for bugs/weeding/watering/trimming, etc., as I wouldn't want my Sims to be required to always cover it. (I usually play large and busy households who would be very qualified with gardening skills, but I usually have them just dabble at it after the skill is built and they are really busy with other stuff.) However, if this is a hobby you want for a Sim, or a way you want to develop a plant as a goal, I think it would be fun as an option. Of course, all of this indoor plant care should count as a gardening skill. I like having the 'decorative plants' options, also. However, currently most of the garden plants you would plant inside in the game are not all that pretty in-game for décor purposes. The options you're describing would address this much better. 🙌

P.S... Wouldn't it be fun to be able to grow and harvest indoor avocado, orange, lemon, etc. plants? Perhaps a version that's a dwarf tree like the decorative orange variation? I love how the current small, decorative 'orange tree' indoor plant looks in some homes or on porches! Obviously we can grow the current trees inside with medium height walls, but medium walls and full-grown trees are a bit overwhelming in most home/porch settings in the game. a dwarf version wouldn't look out of place, though.

@SheriGR OMG mini harvestables would be incredible!! It makes me think about a cafe that I visited a couple of years ago that had pea plants trailing up the fence of their outdoor patio and hanging strawberry planters. While you were waiting for your food, you could pick a pea pod and eat some fresh peas, or have a bowl of fresh berries!

I really like this idea! I've kind of tried something similar with the current harvestable plants in conservatories/sunrooms because when we got the Greenhouse Haven Kit it was the first thing I wanted to do. It also helps plants avoid changing with Seasons...but alas bugs prevent it from working fully. Sheltered plants are affected by just about every gardening bug there is. I wanted to use the Wall planters from Eco Lifestyle too because you do get a smaller flatter plant and because you can cover the walls with them to make walls of greenery but the gardening itself is broken sadly, so I was really disappointed.

But I'd love to see proper little indoor plants that actually work. We can get miniature pepper and chilli plants in stores for our windowsills IRL and little lettuce or herb boxes to grow. They'd look so cute in our Sim's kitchens.

@simsplayer818 Yes!! I frequently add the decorative 'windowsill herb garden' type decoration (that really isn't an herb garden) to lots where it seems a fitting idea to have one on the windowsill, but I would absolutely love if it really worked to add herbs to an indoor windowsill planter and they were actually harvestable!!!! 🙌

All of the ideas posted in this thread are great! 🙂  I would like having indoor plants also!
