@Kpelzi As a child, books increase your Sim's creativity skill. As an adult, there are plenty of skill books your Sim can read to increase whatever skill the book is about - including a series of logic books, if you want to raise logic.

If you want a sim to like reading, use the Bookworm trait. Admittedly I don't think there's really a way to make Sims dislike reading - maybe loves outdoors, active, or adventurous?
