Roofs and roof decorations are broken on consoles

My favorite part of sims 4 is building, but roofs are the downfall. I play on Xbox series X, but I've found the Playstation users also expirence these issues too.

-There is not a way to place friezes or exterior trims wall by wall, it automatically goes around the entire room when I place it inside a house but touching an outside wall. The room does not count as enclosed if it has platforms or spandrels even if there are no doors to the outside. Picture included, there are no doors in this room but if I go to delete the frieze inside the room, it erases it from everywhere outside that touches that specific wall.

-If I have a roof around the second story of a house, I cannot place half walls or fences or the roof goes through the walls and the room(s) becomes unusable. Picture included, again no doors in this room but I would like to add a fence or half wall to block out the stairs, but as soon as the fenced in area becomes an "enclosed space" the roof goes through the walls and deletes the stairs.

I like making my builds beautiful but also architecturally realistic, but these roof issues almost make the game not worth it for me.

  • Propp0821 the way to get around the frieze problem is to first build the outer shell using the Wall Tool and draw it around instead of using a Room Tool. Then place your frieze. When you are adding interior rooms, again avoid the Room Tool and draw the rooms with the Wall Tool. The frieze stays where it should for me if I do that, even if I use half walls, stairs and spandrels inside. I'm also on Xbox Series X.

With the roofing problem I usually use the Half Gabled Roof or Half Hipped Roof sections rather than a full roof. I draw fences around the top of the stairs and match it with stair railings. But if you draw a full room with the half walls and wrap it around the top of the stairs it wipes out the staircase. That doesn't happen if you do the same with a fence. The fence stays invisible along the top of the stairs instead so the Sim can walk through, a half wall won't do that as it is like any other wall so you can really only use those to draw along the sides of the stairs and avoid making it into a room. It's hard to see from the images if that's what caused your issue there.
