I think they need to tweak "Mysterious" (as well as maybe other ideals) more. You'd think an occult would nail this Ideal like gardeners/fishing/natural living skill Sims would nail Naturel-Loving, and that the autonomy would help occults act more like occults, but it really doesn't.
Besides fixated on the seance table or playing with voodoo doll (if in inventory and if bound to a nearby Sim). I feel this Ideal really needs to be fleshed out more.
With Clubs occult actions like "Cast Chaotic Spells" or "Cast Helpful Spells" actually are autonomous. Besides if you toggle to
"Always Transportalate" Sims aren't doing any occult autonomy (I don't know if some occults do, but not Spellcasters, and as you mentioned not fairies either).
They also do not do tarot autonomously which since it is on a cool down should be done autonomously for at least for self. And unless a Sim has tarot in inventory they won't do it anyways (similar to voodoo doll).
I think they really should tweak ideals a bit more, but it probably needs more player feedback.
I was mostly thinking about increasing Dynasty Prestige through Ideals. After reading your post, maybe it's worth reducing aggressive autonomous actions too. Sims Team once reduced the chance of Ailments in EBN. Is there a chance the Sims team will release a fix?

I mean I believe they are "actively investigating" object/activity obsessed Sims even before this pack (they say that is upcoming for update/patch for spring I think). So hopefully, I mean I wanted better autonomy with traits, now I want better autonomy with ideals. I'd like my occults to act like occults without my direction. But not to be obsessive either.

But I mean both in increasing prestige generally, and through autonomy. Mysterious/Devious seem to be harder to increase prestige through autonomy vs. Nature Loving/Diplomatic for example.
