Save Games

Hi, I’m just wondering with all the work done on save games, is there any chance Xbox X|S can have more than 10 saves now? I have to delete one to start a new save and I have attachment issues

  • TomOCally3 I get what you're asking but this would not be good practice on console. Running more than 10 saves with a game the size of Sims 4 causes major save bloat, crashes and lagging as well as full storage error codes. Limits are decided by Xbox (with input from EA I'm sure) but most of the responsibility for save slots falls on Xbox. There are sound reasons for that limit based on the Microsoft system level storage cap which is imposed across the system architecture to avoid taking up unlimited cloud storage or corrupting memory. The game has so many assets to consider. Every relationship, every interactive item, every bit of inventory storage and even the library storage all add to the file size. Multiply that by 10 you can understand why that's too much even with a next gen console. Series S has limited storage anyway but even on Series X it's just not a  realistic expectation.

Are you starting a new save per household? I have mine all in one save with one backup save that's a copy of that game. I'm on Xbox Series X with all content and 37 maker packs and by using just a couple of save slots I'm avoiding the game breaking crashing and lagging that many console players are experiencing.
