Tween and Middle Aged are quite intriguing, so much you can do with those
I'm likely in the minority on this, but I feel like kids (newborn through teen) have enough life stages already. Five, to be exact. Young adults and above only have three stages.
I think the problem is not necessarily that we don't have preteens, which is a tiny window of time in the childhood age range and can at least be approximated with the child stage we have. It's that teens look like young adults. If they were shorter and looked younger than YAs, we probably wouldn't have all these calls for preteens. But, there's no going back to fix teens now. I live with it by styling my teens differently from adults so that they at least look distinct. I rarely put makeup on them, for instance, because it makes them look older.
IMO, the biggest gap that remains to be filled is between adult and elder. The transition between them is too abrupt. Middle age is what we need now. But, I doubt they will be adding any more life stages to the game at this point.
