If EA isn't going to makes sims 5 then all previous games should become downloadable and free to play. Whether or not they update them if the sims franchise is ending makes all games available. As so...

I agree that the original Sims, the Sims 2 and any other Sims related PC spin-off should be available to download digitally on the EA App. I'd have no problem re-purchasing them either, so long as the price isn't unreasonable.
They released SimCity 3000 Unlimited back in March of this year, which I swiftly bought when I found out! Unfortunately, they didn't do a very good job of optimising it, so while it does run on modern hardware/software, I still had issues with higher resolutions. Mods weren't able to fix the problem either, so I gave up.
So that's the key really, optimisation. I'd be all for playing the original Sims again, but the developers would have to do a good job of making it fully compatible with modern systems, right out of the box. I'm not sure I have that much faith to be honest. 😅
