Dfletch61 This has always been the case with Sims games. And many players (myself included) would resent it if our sims started out rich or at least financially stable. Part of the fun of the game for at least some of us is to build the sims up from very little. That's why "rags to riches" challenges are so popular.
Having said that, you can always use the freerealestate cheat.
