@SqueamishNerdThank you so much for this thread! I have DU since 2020 but I only recently started playing with servos, and it's painful to see how neglected (and LIMITED) they are as a lifestate. I guess not many people play with them either, so these problems aren't given much attention.
I doubt they would go as far as making a new CAS for servos but it would be pretty neat if they followed your concept. I wish we could at least be less restricted with customization for servos.
Side note: I've been using mod workarounds to customize servo's likes and gender/sexuality. Likes and dislikes count as "traits" in some way, so they can be added and removed with MCCC (MC CAS > Manage traits). For the gender and sexuality, I've been using the LGBTQIA mod since I got the sexuality update, and this was how my "female" servo managed to date a straight woman by being agender. I'd be pretty annoyed if I couldn't use mods.
OH, and one more suggestion for the "new CAS"! With the newest stuff pack release, servos could be able to use jewelry for their buffs (except earrings... where would they hang onto?)
