What's the point of having a Forum if you don't use it for your own communications? Not exactly a vote of confidence.
I use both but I completely understand how people feel. I don't use Facebook, and I can't tell you how many times I'll be told by companies "you get free access to our group" like no, thank you, I hate that platform, lol. And friends don't keep in touch anymore because "everything's on Facebook" like no, I don't want town hall updates I want a friendship lol.

I use Discord, but not X. Using X is controversial, to say the least. X is no longer Twitter, the mainstream social media platform that it used to be.
I guess they too know the new forums are horrible and they never should have changed them.
I have started using discord only for looking at sims news. I agree with what is said here. I intentionally don't use Facebook or x/twitter. It would be much better if communication went via the forum. A big thank you to simgirl1010 for collecting so much information. But frankly it would make sense for the sims team theme to repost a recap of a discord Q&A on the forum.
I agree with HollownessDevour I don't use social media (except an occasional glance at Discord). When I'm told to use certain sites for info or contact options I immediately think "ugh, nope". So thank goodness for the work simgirl1010 does to compile everything for us. We didn't really have a feature like this (that I can think of 🤔) on the old AHQ over the years so it's a feature I'm finding really useful on this forum because I didn't use the old forums, just AHQ.

I am pretty anti-social media (FB/Twitter(X)/Discord/etc.). I have almost no apps on my phone (I use it for mostly calls and text, checking time or weather/temperature). My screen addiction is usually PC/Console game(s) not a phone or social media feed. I prefer going to official forums when I want to give feedback or talk with like minded people, and get so upset when I get told go to discord... It is like walking into an establishment and being told you can only do that online (and you do feel "what is the point of you then?").
