Thanks EA. My Sims 4 is unplayable.

Thank you EA for making the sims 4 pretty much unplayable. This is the worst most problematic game I have ever played. I don't know what you people are doing besides nickel and diming players for every single thing that should have been in base game out of greed, but with every update comes new issues at every turn. Playing on console sucks enough because you made it impossible for console players to use Custom Content. Custom Content that would actually make this game fun for a change. The amount of problems I've been having in recent years is really ridiculous. It's frustrating to the point where I'm ready to get rid of the game entirely. Aside from issues with constant crashing during the loading screen( if I can even get to the loading screen)turning the game on and the gallery not loading unless I completely restart the game, there are about 50 others. All of this makes the anticipation for Life By You and Paralives even greater.

You can't blame everything on Maxis/EA. Consoles are meant that way. Sony, Microsofts, and the others, purposefully make consoles so they can't be altereted by users.

I would rather say it sucks to play The Sims 4 on console because the content is so empty and so broken it gives the impression they make it with the idea in mind that it doesn't matter to deliver broken or empty games since modders will be there to save the day.

  • Hi there @95NJ_Disturbed you haven't specified your console but there are a few things that might help with your crashing problems.

There are definitely are some compromises to make while playing such a large game on console and the biggest one is storage. So carefully managing your game storage and items can really help with game performance and stability. When I have any kind of performance issues in my game the first place I look is Other Households and I delete random Townies. I'm finding lately that the game is generating too many after visiting public lots and where I used to clear them once a month, I now clear them daily. The next thing you can do is clear all the inventories of previously played households, from personal inventories to fridges and especially household inventories. Also clear as much as you can from your Library. I keep mine mostly empty except for just a few things.

Also watch how many save games you have. I run 2 save games currently but I never exceed 3 save games.

There's a couple of threads here that might be useful to get more troubleshooting steps and to report your crashing issues and keep in touch with any developments and workarounds. You might have already seen them.

If you are on Playstation there are also instructions to share your save. On Xbox unfortunately that's not possible.

I also recommend having your manufacturer's help app installed for handy advice. I know that Xbox has excellent customer service and I've been lucky to get advisors on callback that really understand the Sims. I play on Xbox Series X now but have played the franchise since the start on PlayStation/PC and 4 different Xbox models.

The latest information available suggests the 2 games you mentioned aren't going to be available on console at this stage or possibly even at all, it just says they have no plans to include us. That immediately puts me off buying their game if those companies aren't interested in my custom, it's as if console players aren't as important to some businesses and I think that's a massive misstep. But I think something that EA has done is to make sure we've never been totally cut out of the franchise on console. We may get the game a little later and with some differences and challenges but we do get it. They do also put a lot of effort into supporting players on all platforms and giving us places to give our feedback, ask for advice and report our issues here and on Discord. I am playing a different game on Nintendo and I wish I could report issues with that as easily as I can with Sims. I agree I'd love CC but manufacturers share the responsibility for that not being possible.

So whatever the issue you're having you can always visit AHQ for help and we'll always be here. I really hope your Sims experience improves.
