The Action of Reading Books

I’ve always wondered why reading books in the sims 4 does absolutely nothing to improve your sim’s intelligence skills. At least as a child, I think it would be a great idea to have reading books increase mental skill. On the note of reading books, I think there should be a way to “like reading” or “dislike reading” when creating your sim.

  • @Kpelzi As a child, books increase your Sim's creativity skill. As an adult, there are plenty of skill books your Sim can read to increase whatever skill the book is about - including a series of logic books, if you want to raise logic.

If you want a sim to like reading, use the Bookworm trait. Admittedly I don't think there's really a way to make Sims dislike reading - maybe loves outdoors, active, or adventurous?
  • @Kpelzi Yeah, i wish "Reading" was under hobbies' Likes and Dislikes, even if it's not a skill (i'd like it to have one too). It's really sad how we have to sacrifice a trait slot to a thing that could be added to another system.
