Toddler needs diaper changes even after potty trained

I am playing on PC with no mods. I think this is a recent bug, because the last time I played with a toddler a few months ago I didn't notice this problem. I have a toddler in my household who has maxed out the potty skill and is able to use the potty on her own. However, after my toddler uses the potty, she needs a diaper change, but it seems to occur only after she has been picked up after using the potty.

So she'll use the potty, immediately after if she clicks on the changing table, or an adult sim does, there won't be an option to change diaper, just to plan/change outfits. But as soon as she's picked up, the option to change diaper will appear on the changing table when clicking with the toddler or the adult.

I would expect that option to no longer appear unless the toddler uses her diaper, especially because diaper changes on the table take so long.

I don't think that's a bug but leaving this to the CM to decide.

It is a little confusing because the interaction isn’t available at all for an infant unless they have a dirty diaper, but certainly something I can learn to ignore. I just feel a little silly about all those unnecessary diaper changes I did lol. If anyone else is having a similar problem, try checking if the toddler actually needs a diaper change through the interactions menu rather than the changing table and/or make sure the changing table says “Change Dirty Diaper.”

Hi there, sorry for the delay, just had a chance to do some play testing. It only says “Change Diaper” not “Dirty Diaper” and the interaction is only available when an adult holding the toddler clicks on the changing table. If you select “Toddler Care” with the adult the option to change diaper is greyed out and says the toddler doesn’t need a diaper change, and the toddler also can’t ask the adult for one, so I don’t think the diaper is actually dirty.

Does it say change diaper or change dirty diaper ?

Does the toddler smell or is it just about the interaction ?
