Life Transitions: Divorce, Co-Parenting, Therapy & Modern Families
Pack Type: Game Pack Overview The Sims 4 has explored weddings, parenting, infants, and growing together, but one major life transition is missing: divorce and how families evolve afterward. Relationships do not always end cleanly, and families often continue in new forms. This pack would focus on separation, co-parenting, blended families, emotional healing, and professional support systems such as therapy and legal services. Core Gameplay Features Formal divorce process with amicable or contested separations. Custody arrangements for children include shared custody, primary household, and visitation schedules. Alimony and child support systems tied to income, careers, and household funds. Co-parenting relationship status such as respectful, tense, hostile, or healed. Emotional impacts on children and teens, especially during key growth stages. Blended family and stepparent dynamics. Therapy and Healing Gameplay Individual therapy, couples counseling, and family therapy. Therapy affects moodlets, traits, and long-term relationship outcomes. New interactions such as reflecting, setting boundaries, processing emotions, and rebuilding confidence. Teens can attend therapy to cope with family changes and emotional growth. Therapy is presented as a positive tool focused on healing, communication, and resilience. Legal and Career Gameplay Lawyer career path with a focus on family law. Sims can hire lawyers to handle divorce proceedings, custody negotiations, and alimony or child support agreements. Lawyer skill progression influences outcomes such as amicable versus contested resolutions. Court-related events are handled off-lot like existing career systems. Why This Is Needed The Sims 4 represents many joyful beginnings but lacks meaningful gameplay for when relationships end. Divorce and separation are real parts of life and can be portrayed in a respectful and growth-focused way that aligns with the tone of The Sims. Who This Pack Is For Story-driven players, legacy and generational players, players who enjoy realistic life simulation, and families with teens navigating emotional development. Why It Fits the Sims 4 This pack would complement existing family-focused packs by emphasizing adaptation, healing, and long-term family dynamics. Life is not only about beginnings but also about transitions, support, and growth.2Views0likes0CommentsCross-Platform DLC Transfers for The Sims 4
Dear Reader, As a dedicated Sim player for over 18 years, I genuinely love and enjoy the game. While I've occasionally been frustrated by some updates (or the lack thereof), nothing has been more disheartening than the inability to transfer purchased packs across platforms. I currently play on PlayStation but have been considering switching to PC/Mac for greater convenience, especially when traveling. However, I was shocked to discover that the significant investment I've made in The Sims 4 content—over $1,400 across expansion packs, game packs, stuff packs, and kits—would not carry over to a new platform. This limitation is both frustrating and discouraging for loyal players like myself. What is the point of having an EA account if it doesn't provide the flexibility to access purchased content across platforms? The idea of repurchasing the same DLC content for another $1,400 is unreasonable and alienating to devoted fans. Allowing cross-platform pack transfers would offer more advantages than drawbacks: Player Loyalty and Customer Appreciation: The Sims franchise thrives on its passionate and loyal player base. Allowing cross-platform pack transfers would show that EA values and appreciates its most dedicated players. Increasing Player Engagement: Players are more likely to engage with the game on multiple platforms when their content carries over. This flexibility enhances the player experience, encouraging greater long-term involvement in the game. Consistency with Industry Trends: Cross-platform play and transferable purchases are becoming industry standards. Major gaming companies such as Epic Games, Microsoft, and Ubisoft have embraced this model, making it easier for players to access their content across different devices. EA should follow suit to remain competitive and player-focused. Convenience for Players on the Go: Gaming isn't confined to a single device anymore. Many players, myself included, would love to play The Sims 4 while traveling or on road trips by simply hotspotting a laptop to a phone. Without cross-platform content, this becomes nearly impossible for console players. Protection Against Piracy: The current system inadvertently encourages players to seek unauthorized ways to access their paid content on other platforms. Offering a legitimate solution for transferring packs would reduce the incentive for piracy. Increased DLC Sales: Players who have the flexibility to use their packs across platforms are more likely to continue purchasing new content rather than feeling alienated by platform restrictions. Improved Customer Satisfaction: Happy customers are more likely to recommend the game and remain loyal to the franchise. Allowing pack transfers would address a significant pain point for many players, fostering a more positive relationship with the EA brand. I understand that some might argue I should simply remain on PlayStation, but it's not always practical. Being able to hotspot my laptop during travel and play like so many other players would be a game-changer for me. I appreciate the hard work the team puts into developing new content, and I'm more than willing to continue supporting The Sims series financially. However, I cannot justify paying twice for the same content. Loyal fans deserve a better solution. I sincerely hope EA will consider addressing this issue and providing a solution that benefits the entire player base. Thank you for your time and for listening to this long-time player's concerns. ~ Haley412Views8likes46CommentsFamily System bugged, period.
Loathe to be a gworl who post vague-ish or incorrect in forum reports, but I actually can't stand having to report stuff lol. Anyway, I wish my family of now 9 actually interacted and acted as family members despite living in separate households. Everyone has keys to each others residences, yet, if the household has to have special locks because let's say: the dang ranch hand won't stay out the house the dang ranch hand would focus on their selected tasks instead of taking and placing trash from the outdoor garbage onto the floor 👿 randoms and neighbors keep wandering in... also 👿 family members WITH KEYS are locked outside a place they have so called special privilege to. Please fix the heart coding so my beautiful family acks* right when together! And when outside of households. I distain that they act as NPCs when out and about. Like for why aren't they able to work out as a family? in every aspect (tv workouts) and throughly (why can't they box together, with pads? and weight benches? Add them FOR FREESKI maybe?)24Views1like0CommentsAllow households and lots to be transferred between saves
I have various households and lots spread across multiple separate saves, which leaves them rather isolated. I would like to be able to port them across the same save so that the household can interact with each other. My intent is to consolidate to a single save.26Views0likes2CommentsCustom Scenarios Tool
Someone had suggested this three years ago on here and I am surprised it didn't get any tractions at all. I know people have been making their own custom scenarios through the Sims 4 Studio but I am sure the many talents in EA could easily implement it in the game as well. A simple UI that allows players to pick their starting conditions and final goals at the scenario selection screen/menu, then the players continue to play their custom-made scenarios just like any other scenarios. It doesn't even need to offer any rewards at the end. I am pretty sure many players would appreciate to have such handy tools instead of have going through hoops to learn to code and mods. If you want, you could even sell it as a kit or pack or whatever. But you didn't hear that from me though.19Views1like1CommentMissing 'Play Sabacc' activity with Businesses & Hobbies + Journey to Batuu
Hi everyone, I’m currently playing with The Sims 4: Businesses & Hobbies and I also have Journey to Batuu installed, but I’ve noticed that the “Play Sabacc” activity is not showing up among the available activities for my Sims. I’ve checked that both packs are properly installed and updated. However, the “Play Sabacc” option is missing from the list of selectable hobbies or business activities. I’ve seen some forum posts mentioning issues with Sabacc gameplay (e.g., endless games), but I haven’t found any specific thread reporting the **complete absence of the activity itself** from the activity system. I’d like to ask: - Is this a known issue or an intentional design choice? - Is a mod required to enable Sabacc as an activity in the Businesses & Hobbies system? - Are there any plans to better integrate Batuu-related activities into the new hobby/business features? Thanks in advance to anyone who can help or clarify — and thank you to the EA team for your support!52Views2likes1CommentCross-pack applications for all the "potion"/"elixir" crafting furniture
If i want to make a hedge-witch character who specializes in brewing helpful potions, I end up needing many different pieces of equipment to realize that - a bar for mixology "potions", a cauldron for spellcaster potions, a grill or stove for Herbalism, and an apocathary table for Apocathary. While it would be ridiculous to ask for all of these things to be collapsed into a single skill, I do think it would maybe be nice if some pieces of crafting equipment had cross-pack uses for skills with a similar theme. I can easily imagine crafting Cauldrons already have a secondary use beyond making spellcaster potions, in that large portions of certain Cooking recipes (such as macaroni and cheese) can be crafted in them. Why not let some of the "potions" and "elixirs" from various skills be brewed in them? Or let spellcasters and herbalists craft their unique potions and cures on the apothecary table?13Views2likes0Commentshow do we have no stands for hats?
I don't want to always sell from my inventory on the fibre hats from Nifty Knitting. It shouldn't been excluded so long, nor ignored to have a stand to or object to have hats sit on selling table and any other surface otherwise of worn on portable stands to display them on. I snipped some pictures for what we should have already to sell hats from. So, I'm done with making do what were missing and will be of Sims in general. Please stop overlooking of this anymore for hats and other wearables, even llama mannequins please.9Views2likes0CommentsSave and Quit - don't quit if save was unsuccessful
I just lost about two hours of progress because after pressing Save & Quit, the save was unsuccessful (error 12 or some such) and then the game quit. This is a very unwelcome behaviour; expected behaviour would be to interrupt the procedure if the save was unsuccessful, so that the player can try to manually save at least.54Views0likes4Comments
