Like everyone else on this thread, I'm not a fan of this idea. I love mods and CC, but I can get that without it being a part of my actual playing. I don't see how marketing cc would be "healing" and I react rather negatively to the idea that "we all have to grow up" as if monetisation is somehow inevitable and not wanting marketing in my game makes me childish and immature.
I do not play computer games to go shopping or have a "marketplace", nor to be an adult. I'm an adult in the rest of my life and I have no intention of "growing up" when it comes to computer games.
When I say healing, I mean personally. Games can be a detox from the troubles of real life. When I say grow up, I mean we have real world responsibilities and can’t play games all day. I wish I could, but then bills wouldn’t get paid. I think with all the marketing being done has gave everyone a bad taste. I totally hate all the irrelevant ads that we are bombarded with especially phone game ads. This is not what I meant. Sims have marketplaces set up in game already.
