@Dequan_Gambrell, many of the things you want in the game actually are in the game if you bother to get the Expansion Packs! So, The Sims 4 does have :
family trees
swing sets
illnesses
hospitals
bugs/rodents
ghosts
different elevations
way more than 3 books!!!
many empty lots in New Crest (that is all New Crest is!)
the ability to go to work with your Sims in 4 different careers (Police Detective, Doctor, Scientist, and Veterinarian)
and even decorative cars (just enlarge the toy/model cars with keyboard commands)
😉
And you don't have a Comfort Need anymore because this is taken care of with moodlets. Get enough bad moodlets and your Sims will be uncomfortable, and you will need to find ways to fix their uncomfortable mood. It isn't in the need panel, just in the mood panel! 😎
As for some of the other things you requested such as the color wheel (Create A STyle/CASt) that was left out because it ground many people's games to a halt! 😮 What is the use of a tool (no matter how wonderful it is) if you can't play your game because of it. 😞 The same goes for why they didn't make TS4 with an open world like they tried out in TS3. Great in theory, but almost unworkable for a great many people in reality.
If you prefer TS3, then you are free to play that to your heart's content! 🙂
Finally, it is against the rules here to type in all caps because it is viewed as shouting. I understand your passion on this issue, but you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar! 😉
Happy Simming!
- 7 years agoCompletely agree with PugLove! In my opinion sims 4 started off a little weak but it has only gotten better, way better. I think they are doing an amazing job with the expansions and occasional free content and UI updates. They are making sure this game is functional for everyone and they are focusing more on quality than quantity this time and these expansion packs they've been releasing have been amazing.
I highly suggest exploring the game more and trying different game play paths and experiences and you'll discover a lot of new things.
Also, If you are interested, there are many incredibly talented modders who add a lot of new game play to the game. Some of my favorites are LittleMsSam and KawaiiStacie. I highly recommenced modding, it makes the game a lot more interesting and personalized.- 7 years ago
Yeah I agree that Sims 4 suck and more people forget that there's hardly anything good about pool stuff. There's no waterslides, no beaches, no real looking diving boards, and no floaties either to lounge on. Hardly anything fun in sims 4. Sims 4 clothing is so ugly looking and can't change the color the way you want it. Black coloring sucks, it doesn't look black looks more greyish . I rather play Sims 3 but I hardly can't because of the error code 12 /saving problems EA needs to re lease sims 3 without that stupid Error . Instead of making more lame sims games fix your problems on sims 3 Lots of people like Sims 3 but that stupid Saving Error NEEDS to get FIXED!!

You just do not know TS4 and you rate this game by comparing the TS4 base game to the entire TS3. I remember that in the TS3 base game there was not much there either.
For example: personally I prefer TS4 vampires than those from TS3. Now my vampire does not have to know his victim or ask for permission to bite. 🙂

Sounds like we got a Mr. Richy rich over here
- 5 years ago@PugLove888 but why do we have to pay more money to get things that should've been in base game?? there's so many packs at this point and they're all mediocre. there's so many packs, in fact, that if you add up all the prices it comes out to be $700. may i remind you, we're not all rich, we just want to enjoy a game. and $700 for what? things that should've been in basegame? even if i bought all those packs my game would still lack gameplay and lots of other important features. recently i bought parenthood, toddlers, and university and it's nice and all but that's, what, around $70 for basic things that should have been in base game? people will tell me that if i'm so upset i should just find something else to play, but the thing is i really do enjoy the sims, i'm just frustrated by how much this money hungry company has ruined the game!! plus, there's very few other life simulator games out there for me to try out other than the sims. cant wait for paralives 👀
p.s: ea is a billion dollar company. i'm not taking "it would make the game unworkable" as an answer. they can do it, they just don't want to. - 4 years ago
The issues with sims 4 are shocking, sims 3 was great, the way the set up was, the layout of worlds, tasks, the game was great, so why have the ruined sims 4 by changing camera angles, the skills, the layouts, its a joke.
I cannot use sims 3 correctly because for some reason my gaming pc plays sims 4 perfect, but now glitches with sims 3, in game.
I love sims 3, the way you can change colours of furniture etc, all the had to do was update it. basically add more to sims 3 because it was so good. but instead, what a huge let down and a waste of money.

Alittle off Topic but: Showtime + Island Paradise + No Mods = Broken Sims 3 ime.
Back on topic: Sims 4 isn't meant to compete with Sims 3, nor improve upon it. It is a separate game, and comparing it to Sims 3 is unfair. Btw, there's an option to use Sims 3 Camera Controls in the Options menu if you preferred those controls. I for one, think Island Paradise Ruined Sims 3, because showtime slowed it down, but Island Paradise was like looking at a slideshow, I eventually had to resort to mods to get the Sims 3 running in a good order. Sims 4 learned from some of the mistakes the Sims 3 made, but not all of them (f.e. you don't (to the best of my knowledge) have outdoor dog houses, which shouldn't be a big deal to add))

@cherrybomb374 If you'd like to troubleshoot your Sims 3 issues, feel free to post in the Sims 3 PC tech section:
https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-PC/bd-p/the-sims-3
It would be helpful to include a dxdiag, since that's the first thing I'd ask for anyway. Here's how to run one:
https://help.ea.com/en/help/pc/how-to-gather-dxdiag-information/
Sims 3 runs great on my computer, and that's true for many of us still playing. That doesn't mean it can or will run well on your system, just that it's not necessarily a lost cause.

"Sims 3 runs great on my computer, and that's true for many of us still playing. That doesn't mean it can or will run well on your system, just that it's not necessarily a lost cause."
Does mine too, but I have to use mods to make it work with any degree of performance. I mean, error trap is a godsend, i just wish it didn't have a dependency on a larger reaching mod.
- 4 years ago@PugLove888 The game sucks in general, The sims team shot out the gate going on about their engine that was built from the ground up, making all new things possible, they then said it wasn't possible to add pools to the game, or newborns, fans raged as they should and ta da pools were added in as well as a poor substitute for the babies, the sims 4 A.I is not very smart, sims don't think for themselves even for the smallest task and often cycle doing repetitive actions, the game is lack luster and incomplete no matter how many packs and add-ons and mini packs ea forces down your throats, I have no honest idea why you bothered to answer that persons question of your response is "If you prefer TS3, then you are free to play that to your heart's content!" I can see clearly why your badge reads *Volunteer position, Not EA Staff. The game is broken and instead of everyone who they name sim guru actually fixing it they continue to pump out nonsense after nonsense so deep up in EA's you know what that they have the same nasty "If you prefer xxxx, then you are free to play that to your heart's content!' the game blows and without modders and mods even the adult based mods alot of people wouldnt even study it. Why should people be excited for them adding body hair to the sims 4 wow adding textures that we had ages ago and in mods to the sims 4 well I'm glad its you their robbing and not us. You do not understand their passion because no matter how much they type in caps your whole wording comes off as being a pain in the same place the sims team have their head up. So to answer him the reason the sims 4 sucks so much is because as much talent as the staff has they are in a working situation where they need to do what the big heads say or they are out and another robotic yes man or woman is in that job position, the sims 4 is for now the worst sims game made.

we shouldn’t have to PAY for content disguised as “expansion packs” that should be free. Come on now, you can’t seriously tell me it makes sense to make players pay to have pets, or to make them PARENT. You literally have to pay for everything and usually what you’re paying for isn’t even worth it because you’re just paying for a buggy glitchy mess. That’s why people use mods. I’ve defended the sims for a while but after buying the sims 4 high school years, (yet another pack that was ridiculously overpriced) i’ve given up. I spent my hard earned money for a dumpster fire with clearly no love put into it and i’m angry. The only reason I haven’t completely gotten rid of the game is because I’ve spent so much money on it.

@simmerstasia , you do not have to pay to have your Sims parent/raise children... you only have to pay if you want a more detailed experience of parenting, which many people don't , especially if they are the type of people who mostly play with one Sim households (with Sims who love to party, go out, etc.) or prefer to have couples without children. Those people wouldn't want to get the Parenthood GP. But Players who love to play Sim families would want to get that pack! Also, it is an excellent pack in my opinion. But you can still raise children without this pack, it just wouldn't be as detailed. 😉
Also, with almost every type of pack I have run into someone who thinks that pack should be in the base game.🤨 We would end up with no packs at all, just one humongous base game! 😅- 3 years ago
Having a huge base game would somehow be worse? For who? The shareholders at EA. Seriously 95% of what they try and sell us via packs is all things that were previously just part of the game in earlier sims games. Not to mention a TON of earlier content like vehicles, open worlds, robbery/burglary, dynamic relationships and a entire aspiration system that was not a cakewalk to game.
In previous sims games it took a entire lifetime to complete their aspiration, now I can rags to riches starting homeless and with 0$ and be a millionaire in under 30 sim days, entirely completed at least 4 entire aspirations. The game is as shallow as a puddle unless you throw the cost of a used car at it. IF you had added every single pack to the base game for free you might actually start to be a actual sims game.

Yeah, if you want to spend over $500! I have spent over $760 on the game and expansion packs, stuff packs, etc and all I got was bugs, freezing, Eco Pack ruins the game when everything is green! Green screen is what you get as I had to remove to to play again with no refund! The kits and packs, with upgrades you do are ruining the game with all the changing and redoing! Errands do not work with Cottage Living or Batuu, game freezes and we loose hours of play with all the freezing and errors preventing saves, and townies randomly get sent to friend list without even meeting them! Game play is awful and this game is not fun anymore! It is repetitive and boring quickly! I Regret Buying this Game!

Thank you so much for pointing out that some things aren't in this Sims 4 that were in Sims 3 because not everyone has, or can afford, a computer that can accommodate them. When I was working and had actual money coming in I had a top line (for 15 or so years ago) gaming computer desktop that could handle Sims 3 with ease. I LOVED Sims 3. But when the kids filled my computer with viruses and I was forced to put the game on my laptop (which is a good laptop but not for gaming) because I'm disabled and don't have an income to support a new expensive computer my play experience was greatly diminished. It was constantly freezing and crashing. So I'm thrilled that Sims 4 is taking us into account.
I also feel like everyone forgets everything we had in Sims 3 at the end was not base game. Most gameplay and content (it seems to me) gets added in various packs over time. it'd be nice to get it all at once but it'd also be extremely expensive and again, price people like me out of the game. I can manage $50 here and there, I can't buy a game that costs several hundred upfront though.
That said there are things I miss. I liked that when a sim wrote a book they then had a copy of the book in their bookshelves. I liked being able to hire a nanny on a scheduled basis that showed up every time your sim went to work. On the other hand I like moods and aspirations better in 4. I also like that there are more interactions (not a lot but some at least) between toddlers.

The fact you would try to defend this game by saying “well, if you’d spent more money on it…”. Release the FULL game, not a buggy part of a full game or don’t release the game at all. Extremely disappointed and disgusted. I realize I’m 7 years late to this conversation but COME ON EA, WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?
