It's not hate; it's anger. People are angry because they do love the franchise and do want the Sims to grow and for there to be more content and more editions, but the game glitches are so bad now that becomes impossible to play. You pay for content with glitches that go unfixed for months and years sometimes. There is no other game where players invest this kind of money in it, and are expected to put up with this level of glitches and problems. Any other game that wasn't so beloved would have completely failed and shut down years ago. People wouldn't bother, and players who love this game and have loved this game for so long are angry and hurt by EA both taking advantage of their audience and consistently letting their audience down.
