Re: This event was disappointing

Hi all, just a heads up, new Deck the Palms threads are being merged into the main thread, which is now marked as solved/closed, so it may be hard to add new reports on here.

If you’re still missing rewards (event missing, can’t claim, locked messages, etc.), it may be better to contact EA Help directly so it’s logged officially. Please include your platform, what happened, and any screenshots.

Hopefully they can still issue a make good for players who participated/attempted to participate but couldn’t claim everything due to in game issues or unclear event requirements.

I didn't mind that this wasn't a quest thing that would be so frustrating to play when conflicts/incidents force you to miss opportunities. I've gotten lucky to get everything possible. But even this time, like the quest stuff, I'm always missing the last items. But back then, it was more of a benefit for people who have the DLCs already.

But EA sold us on this event laying out all the rewards in a time frame that would not have made it possible to collect everything in it no matter what. I'm pretty sure all of the things were advertised. You could miss some days, and that's not an issue as long as you've been getting stuff up to the last day (so, IDK how people could only be getting a handful of stuff unless something happened on their end). The main issue isn't the language, which EA seems to think is more important to fix (not that that isn't bad advice, it's not productive for dealing with the real issue). The issue is the last 2 items were virtually unobtainable! You could as well have logged in everyday according to the math, but the other 2 items left fall outside the event window. They left in the language implying that there's more to come by logging in next week like the main description said, but the event had ended, perhaps prematurely.

EA should be doing better by doing us a solid and making up for it. I'm certain all of the items exist, they're just locked. The design of the event is what prevented it from being unlocked. They might as well just put in an unlock cheat, if that's going to avoid making a new event out of it.

Same here brother. This event was a disappointment and a buggy mess. They really need to extend the event.

Same problem. Throughout the whole event I was either at mt bf's, who lives across the country where I don't have my pc (and he doesn't have one, not a gamer) or away on vacation or a city trip... I got a few items but could only log in on the 11th of January for the last few items...which wasn't enough.

Same here, I have everything because I've always been on top of these events and I have been completely unable to log in until today.

I've been unable to log in the whole time because I've been away, felt real awful to log in now and see it was 5 hours left and I hadn't actually noticed the "Log in everyday" requirement which, again, I have not been able to do at all. Hoping they'll extend it. 

sure, but at least for me, i didn't get the pop up and hadn't even realized the event had already started until i went to check it out after hearing about it in passing from a youtube video. then wondered why it wasn't showing up and had to mess around and try to fix it. sure i hadn't logged on a bunch- but enough times- at least enough that i would have gotten half of the event items. but i wont get them because well- the sims wasn't working for me the way it was supposed to. this last month was also extra rough so i had been looking forward to something as a little pick me up then was just more bummed out. even then, if it had worked properly and people had wanted the event extended a week- i would support them in asking for it because it wouldnt take away from my game or hurt anyone. might make having to extend the event timing a little hassle for a developer or gamemaker, but surely that could be easily manageable since theyve done it before.

Holidays is literally the only word I need to say. It’s not fair to expect us to log in ON the holidays! Even if after everything is unlocked for the last week to be claimed everyday after the 2nd. We still had to get back into our lives. Please extend it, especially since we all pay a poop ton of money to YOU. Help US this time. Please please please, it’s only fair… Just fix it

Begging you to extend this event for even just a few days. Every other event you could catch up on the very last day of the event and still get everything. The fact that you have to sign in every single day starting at the earliest 9 days before the event ends to get everything is just crazy. I have every single item ever released for this game through DLC, live events, random collab items like with the sims mobile, early purchase bonuses, everything except now I'll be missing a handful of these items because the event was hosted during the absolute busiest time of the year for people.

And no, "it going into January" doesn't mean it's accessible for people because the holidays don't just magically end January 1st for everyone. People are still traveling and celebrating later than the new year. The fact we can't catch up on the last day like every other event is just downright awful.

i logged in Jan 3rd and still couldnt claim more than 2 items..  its just annoying, lol.

ill say ive heard a lot about this affecting so many players since i wrote this, so im not the only one 🤷‍♀️.

January 4th was the latest you could log in and still recieve all the rewards. That is after the busy holidays. I understand you may be upset, but it was communicated. I am not paying attention to Sims news or social media that often and I learned that much. I didn't even log in until after Christmas.
