@w_Whoa, I did a test house with the traits for attracting both cats and dogs. Both seem to come at all times of the day and night. I'm not getting only dogs at night that come in a large group. Instead i'm getting large groups of both! 😃:eahigh_file:
Therefore, do you get the same result in another household with these lot traits? 🤔 If you don't, then perhaps you can "reset" your current house by having them visit another lot (either a friend, or a restaurant, or visit a festival in San Myshuno , etc.) and then return home to see if anything has changed. 😇 If that doesn't work you can try moving them out of their house and then move back in. (Or you can just try moving them permanently to a new house). You can also test another house in a different Save to see if you get different results. The only other thing I can think of is if you have any Custom Content (CC) or Mods in your game that might need to be updated or removed -- but you might not even play with these. 🤨 So, I would try the above and see if that makes any difference in your game! 🙂
Please update us on what you find! 🙂 And I will still be on the lookout for any more strange behavior dealing with this issue in my game. The only odd thing I've found so far is that all of my stray dogs in all of my Save Games are all large dogs! 🤭 I'm going to have to visit the lighthouse island with all the strays to see if I can find any small stray dogs!

@samelsurium3, I don't think it is a bug that you can't get the strays to leave; I think it is just an intended feature. I do wish there was a way to chooses just how many strays come at a time (like a high, medium, and low setting), but I think the thinking behind this is that if you choose to have a bunch of strays on your lot by selecting this lot trrait, then you are going to get a bunch of strays on your lot! 😃 At least the lot trait makes a difference! 😉
@w_Whoa, while I don't play with Mods, I do know that is a popular one and is updated pretty regularly. So I think you are right in that this Mod is probably not causing the problem. It still can't hurt to test it by temporarily removing it and seeing how your game works without it and then putting it back in if removing it doesn't make a difference. 😉 We should be getting a new update soon since Seasons is about to be released , so deaderpool will have to make sure that MCCC is compatible anyway.
Perhaps the dogs tend to come in groups since dogs are more social than cats? 🤔🤨😃 Cat's usually are more solitary than dogs. 😉 But then again I usually get a mixed group of dogs and cats on my lots. This just might be how your game randomly generates strays. 🤔

@w_Whoa, yes it is a bit odd, but I don't think that a pet's personality is taken (much) into account on something like this. I think the attractor that this lot trait has overrides an animal's personality traits. Besides, in real life, even more solitary dogs are still social animals compared to many other types of animals just because of the fact that they are dogs! 😇 In your game the less social dogs will still hang out with the group, they just probably are less happy and more stressed than the super friendly and loyal dogs.
You can also do a test in the same Save Game as this house and just put the Cat Hangout trait on the lot and see if you get any groups of cats that way!🤔 (Or you can temporarily take the Dog Hangout trait off of your current lot and see what happens to the cats in your current household lot.)
Yeah, I would hope that this wouldn't be a game-changing issue for you! 😃 A bit strange and annoying, but entirely livable! 🐶🐱
- 8 years agoWell I get that I can't make them leave the lot 🙂 But I feel like I should be able to make them leave the house? And prevent them from going inside to begin with?

@samelsurium3, I guess the thinking was that if a person wants to attract stray animals to their lots, then they would probably want them in their homes as well. 😃 It would still be nice if we hat the option to be able to specify if you want them only on your lot or in both your lot and your house! 😎
