A way to gain extra fame points without cheating?

I think there might be a way to gain extra fame points without cheating. One of my sims has 3 fame points on celebrity level 1 without ever having gone to level 2. Same for another sim except they've got 2 points. It seems that when they lost a celebrity level to become unknown they retained their point than after regaining their minor celebrity status they ADDED ANOTHER POINT on top of the original point. Thinking I was on to something I did it on purpose a few times. However it doesn't seem to be working now or perhaps I'm not doing it exactly "right" anymore. Perhaps a new patch or buying another pack interfered with this loophole? Perhaps I needed to wait longer before regaining fame so the game would "forget" that I was already a celebrity once? I'm currently hesitant about leveling up my fame if it possibly prevents me from fully exploiting this loophole. As such, I'm not sure if the game would compensate the points higher up on the celebrity levels. I haven't found any mention of this loophole anywhere so I decided to post this. I'm curious if anyone else has encountered it or wants to replicate it. I'm playing the Xbox version of Sims 4 by the way.

  • @Coelrus When Sims with a celebrity status of three or higher are trying for a baby. The toddler or child can get a celebrity point and even gain a level 1 ranking on the celebrity scale. So that is probably where the first point comes from.

Most of the times they lose this status and so, the point and if you had chosen a perk, returns. This is because the level 1 status is hard to remain for children. They need charisma skills to be able to get to social media on the telephone or computer and the activities they have acces to aren't fame/status enhancing yet. Although you could have them simstagram their pets to keep the level up, the time they would have to spend on it is enormous. As soon as your Sims become teenagers and are able to do creative tasks like painting and writing they can gain fame point with that and get a higher celebrity status.

So, for your Sim this high number of points (three) could be a glitch. When you can reproduce it with other Sims it might be a loophole, as you call it.  But it should not be occurring in Sims that haven't reached level 2 yet and aren't children of celebrity parents.

I guess you will have to try it before you can be sure.

    Have fun paying. 😉

Both of my characters are first generation sims therefore they were never born. And they certainly weren't born celebrities. Nice try coming up with an alternative explanation though.

I had another thought on how the loophole came about. I play multiple households which I occasionally switch between. Could that have prefented the game from "remembering they were already celebrities" if I switched households Inbetween celebrity on and offs?

There will probably be no explanation as for why your Sim ended up with the celebrity points you found. My explanation had nothing to do with trying. This is quite a common occurrence, and it might have happend in your game too.  When you play multiple households in a rotational setup it can happen that some of the Sims will appear to be celebrities while in fact they are not. I have seen five stars celebrity foxes in Cottage Living and I am sure these are glitches.

There are as far as I have seen no loopholes that will enable you to gain celebrity status or points other than using cheats and mods. And because you play on a console there a is no way it could be mods so you are left with cheats or glitches.

    Have fun playing. 😉
