If an active Sim is still autonomously choosing social interactions with autonomy turned off in The Sims, it may be due to a mod, a bug, or specific game settings. Check for outdated mods, ensure autonomy settings are correctly applied, and update the game to resolve the issue.

Hey! I’m having the same issue with my active Sim too. I’ve turned autonomy all the way off, but they still engage in social interactions on their own during conversations, and it’s super frustrating. Sometimes they’ll do things like randomly yell or flirt when I don't want them to, and it messes everything up. It would be great if there was a way to completely stop these interactions when autonomy is off.
Also, I totally agree about the 'checking phone' animations. They feel so unnecessary and can be pretty rude during conversations. It would be awesome if there was an option to turn those off or skip them, as they just waste time. Thanks for listening!

Wish I knew that when I was conducting a wedding in my game a short time ago. I turned autonomy off, and Sims were still doing their own thing. Gr. Oh, well. Way too late to go back and try to fix it now. Thanks for the information, all the same.

If you direct your sim to chat with other sims they will dutifully do that. There are no autonomy settings that direct what topics they or the sim they chat with takes up. Likewise if a sim you don't control wants to chat with your sim you have no control of the topic.
