There was no dazed moodlet, and I did indeed have to use cheats to fix things. It was especially awkward because I there was no cheat to just make them be registered as eachothers' spouses again, and my poor pregnant sim went into labor just before I had them propose and elope.
On the bright side, baby Vera was born healthy and the family tree didn't forget who her dad was.
