Alien/Vampire Hybrids

@KushKylie, I played extensively with Alien/Vampire hybrids last Summer and early Fall, and didn't see these problems.🤨  Then again, I didn't use the lot trait to get more Vampire babies, and also since then we have had several updates that could have accidentally changed something! 😮  Also, several of us were posting our results on a thread, and there wasn't anyone having the trouble you describe.  🤔

If I remember correctly, you play on a console? 🤔 (My apologies if you don't, it is very hard to keep track of everyone's individual way of playing the game. 😳 ).  Well, if you play on console then at least we don't have to worry about Mods! :eahigh_file:

I have 2 Vampire/Alien hybrid families, so I can check with one or both of them to see if anything has changed in my game. I can also try a new family with the lot trait to see if that makes a difference. 😉  If I don't get back to you in a couple of hours, then I will probably get back to you tomorrow. 😇

Thanks @PugLove888 , I’ll check the link out and see what others have had! Mine were sooooo cute, then when I went to alter their disguise, they just bugged out on me! 

If it werent for the lot trait, how else do you get the alien/vampire hybrid? I have an alien and vampire couple, and so far, no hybrids. What would be the difference between obtaining them naturally compared to using the lot trait? 

@KushKylie, I took up playing my other Vampire/Alien couple (in this case the wife is an Alien and the husband is a Vampire) again, and they are now pregnant with their first child!:eahigh_file:  My other family was the opposite with the wife a Vampire and the husband an Alien, and I would do the test with them but I don't have any more room in the house for another bed, etc. and I could only test this on one new child because all the other Sim slots are taken.  

I haven't used the lot trait for Vampires before because in this case from last year I was testing to see how many Vampires I got compared to Aliens as offspring, and the Vampire Ley Line lot trait would have skewed my results! 🤨  So I don't know exactly the percentage that this should affect offspring. 🤔

But here is the thing:  I have never seen an actual Alien/Vampire "hybrid" in the sense of the offspring having both the traits of Aliens and Vampires.  It will always be one or the other, although genetically, I guess they are hybrids since one parent is a Vampire and the other is an Alien. 😉  There was also some discussion on that other thread about the possibility of an Alien/Human hybrid or a Vampire/Huma hybrid, (because theoretically the Vampires are Humans turned into Vampires so there might be the chance that get something like the Vampires strange eyes but no Vampiric abilities, etc.) but all of the offspring I got with my last family has either had full Alien capabilities or full Vampire capabilities!  I had no powerless Human Sim offspring with features of Vampires or Aliens in that household.  Others claimed that they did achieve this though, so I don't know.🤨  I know one of the persons who said this happened to them does not use Mods or CC, so that can't be the factor there! I don't use Mods/CC either.  In a household with just Aliens and regular Humans, though, I have gotten offspring with the Aliens blue skin color, but no abilities!  I have not tested mixed Vampire/regular Human households enough to comment, at least not yet! 😉 

Upon rereading the thread I gave you a link for, I did notice at least one case of a glitchy game that another person said was a bug and then gave a link.  I do not know yet if that bug was fixed or not, but apparently it only happens in certain circumstances because it didn't happen in my game and neither I nor the person who had the glitch use Mods/CC.  This might be what you are experiencing in your game! 🤔  I will have to read more on it.

In the meantime I will continue to play my newer Alien/Vampire house , but the going is slow since we keep having storms with really bad lightning roll through where I live, so I keep having to turn off my computer in case it gets hit! 😮😞  But I will get back with you as soon as I have more info.  I will post pictures as well! 😇

@PugLove888  The couple who had the “hybrids” are both 100% alien, created by me. The vampire ley line lot trait is what gave their babies the vampire appearance. The little icons in the bottom right corner of the screen where needs are, are vampire images, whereas their parents are alien images. 

I dont think the game is allowing the disguises to work because despite looking like aliens, and having alien disguise abilities in their interaction menu- they’re actually technically vampires. I’ll age them up today and see if the game gives them a dark form as teens, as per the usual vampire way. 

You’re right though- generically, they look and sound like aliens, but I think the game is gonna give them vampire abilities. 

Its a shame the two occult characteristics cant live within the same sim- but it’ll be awesome having vampires who look like aliens! 

I actually tested the lot trait on the alien couple after two humans had a vampire after conceiving on a vampire ley line lot trait. It shocked me so much! Then someone said that’s how they got hybrids! And it worked! I just wish they weren’t so buggy about it. 

@PugLove888 I aged them to teenagers, and they’re definitely vampires. They have all the traits and needs of one, as well as access to their physical features. It’s so strange- they have the alien interactions AND the vampire ones! They also have THREE forms. Their alien form, their alien disguise, and their dark form. I can’t edit their alien form- in cas, only two forms show- the alien disguise and the dark form- but the dark form acts like the disguise- not the vampiric form with the black smoke and all that- but I can easily change between all three forms. Remove disguise/disguise self- and show dark form. 

I thought they were buggy, but it seems the game just can’t handle their forms up until teen years. 

Im so excited about this.

The main difference with those cases are that they are either created with a cheat or they are the result of a male Vampire being abducted by Aliens and resulting in the bugged offspring.  Since your case was caused by neither situation, you might want to add your experience to the Bug Reports thread that I linked to above.  

After reading everything, I am going to stop testing my family for you and I am going to try to get an Alien couple to have babies with the On a Dark Ley Line lot trait like you did, and see what I get! 🤓😉  

(FYI, from the Vampire male and Alien female, they gave birth to an Alien girl!  She is just a toddler, but she has all the hallmarks of an Alien, and none of the ones of a Vampire. 😉)  I'll get back to you soon with the results of my trying to replicate your situation! 😇

@PugLove888  Let me know how you go. It’s really easy. I got the hybrid twins in one shot. Another Simmer got them in two tries. I’m gonna have fun with it and see how often it happens. 

I also noticed the alien couple who gave birth to these hybrids have been getting abducted almost every time I play them now. The mother straight after she gave birth, and dad right after they aged up to kids or teens- I can’t remember. 

I’ll create a bug report and see what happens.
