Auto closing notification?

like...when every time a new notification pops up, they stack...the oldest one would be on top while the new ones are under...and i have to go click the "x" to close them one by one...

is there a way for the notifications to "fade away" automatically? 

or at least have the new ones on top of the old ones...

like when it comes up, i read it...and i would like to ignore it as it is...

if i missed it, i could still open the notification wall and read it again...
