Babies still not auto-aging

Hiya, the babies in my game (with aging on & game fully updated & all mods/cc removed) still won't auto-age... any idea to fix this???

  • @107531kop
    Tested using normal lifespan today.
    Pregnancy was four days.
Baby born on Thursday around noon.
Birthday on the calendar was Saturday.
I was looking at a three day time frame and indeed it would have been the third day.
But based on the time of day Sunday at noon would have been more exact.
Baby autonomously aged up about 1:30pm (1330 hours) Sunday.
Is this a bug or glitch or is it by design?
I suppose that may be the opinion of the player.

At the very least I hope it answers the question that ... yes babies do age up autonomously.

I usually click on the crib and age up the babies. Out of curiosity (because I had seen comments like yours before) I decided to test to see if they did age up autonomously.
It seemed to me like it took a bit longer than I expected but it did happen.
Along with removing (not disabling) mods / cc the localthumbcache.package needs to be deleted.
As an extra precaution right click on the game in Origin and Repair the game.
Testing on a vanilla (no mods/cc) folder is the best way to investigate causes of issues.
Allow a bit of extra time for baby to mature enough to age up.

@EuphorialQueen so if I understand correctly, the babies don't actually tend to age up on their birthdays according to the calendar (have all packs installed)???? but it can take a few days longer???

and yes, I had removed all mods/cc and deleted the localthumbcache… I always repair the game right after an update (solved a lot of things that would otherwise glitch out after an update), play vanilla at the moment

In my case I did not look at the calendar.

My settings were on normal and I waited about three days. It was on the fourth day the child automatically aged up. Aging may seem longer on the time of day they were born.

When I get back in game I will run a test to verify the time.

@EuphorialQueen This particular game save runs with aging set to long life (according to calendar baby-birthdays are around 7 days after birth).. (calendar also is set to 14 days per season)

That would seem like an eternity to wait for infants to age up!
On long settings it would be 12 full days give or take a couple hours.

@EuphorialQueen I have another household with triplet babies (somehow currently all my households only seem to be able to produce triplets, but in this game save I've got a policy that the game should run its course so no interference from me (unless in daily activities should they have any requirements for work/uni/school etc...)… So I'll keep an eye on the longer amount of days you mentioned and try to ignore the calendar when it comes to babies... I'll update you if it does work (I've planned an entire Sims4 day today in-between days of writing my BA thesis)

@EuphorialQueen the babies have auto-aged around 3 days later than the calendar said it was their birthday (was supposed to be on Monday, but they aged on Thursday)… thanks for all your help!

Good to hear your babies birthdays are back on track. They may not match the calendar but at least you know they will age up on their own.
Thank you for your patience during the troubleshooting process. I am sure your information will be helpful for others as well.
