BB undo/redo buttons not working and unpaused-but-actually-paused bug

I created a new save just to attempt to build something, I’m using platforms and pillars, and suddenly the undo/redo buttons in build/buy stops working after I used it to delete one room. I wanted to delete a couple rooms I had just created and the buttons are not greyed out, I can still click them but nothing happens.

I went back into live mode and the game was paused so I unpaused but it still says it’s paused above it. I tried to test the build to see if my sim could go in but the actions menu wasn’t opening so I couldn’t interact with anything. In the end I decided to quit and save but it was taking forever to save so I had to force close the game.

I want to know how to avoid this from happening in the future. I had the unpaused-but-actually-paused bug before but it usually went away quickly and I didn’t have the patience to sit around for it and I think it had something to do with the undo/redo buttons in build/buy not working.
