Burned Out...

My sim got the purple dazed moodlet after drawing just two paintings on the sketchpad. After trying get it down by programming/chess it didn't work fast enough so it turned into the orange burned out moodlet. What is even the point of this?  My sim could just be sitting down on his couch chilling and watching tv while the burned out moodlet skyrockets. Does that make any sense?

  • I absolutely detest Burnout. I really do. I'm still figuring out what creative activities are affected by it and what isn't. Painting is, Writing is, but Fabricating isn't, Preserve Making isn't, Nectar making isn't, Handiness isn't and neither is Flower Arranging or Gardening. So it doesn't quite make sense to me because Painting is arguably more relaxing than many of these. Plus, the Burnout warning at the end of a work day sometimes tells me the affected Sim should exercise one of their creative skills...so I'm baffled. They get it really quickly while painting too.

I'd love an on/off toggle for it.

@simsplayer818 I've only had two Sims with this buff, and I think both are in the Stylist career path. Which is strange. I'd expect it more in the business careers. (Personal experience, perhaps? hehehe)

I think this is a bug tbh. My sim got the dazed moodlet for the second time right after recovering from a mental block and he hasnt even done anything, not a thing!. They just keep coming back endlessly!! I think its the freelancer digital artiist career path thats causing it

@LadyAofPineapple my Stylist, Mizhi had a nightmare with Burnout because I wanted her to be a celebrity Stylist with a Lifestyle Brand too. She did eventually get there but the Burnout was so excessive while she was writing her books and painting too. Plus she'd arrive home from work in a right state. I've played this Sim before and it was so much easier before Burnout was added, still hard work but with less yelling (from me) and sobbing (from her, well... mostly).

One way to help with this would be to add a Reward Point remedy for Burnout or make the big 500 Reward Point Moodlet Solver cover Burnout as well. Even if it costs a few points, fine as we're desperate. Or even add it to the bath soaks like the Muscle Relaxing Soak and a nice face mask. Give us a way to solve it, because currently nothing really helps and I'm not sure that's as it should be. I don't particularly like the dazed effect of it either and I've had a really stressful government job with deadlines and grant bids, invoices, salaries, staffing and conflict but it never made me dazed. Yoga, relaxing, a night out, a video game, headphones on with loud music (best thing ever for work fatigue) spa products, aromatherapy all helped. So I hope it can be reviewed and made a bit more realistic and give us ways to mitigate it. The suggestions added in the Burnout warning don't really work unfortunately.
