Buy Mode Glitch?

While playing sims last weekend, there was an ongoing issue where no matter what I tried to select in buy mode, I couldn’t place it. It would “select” and then immediately go back - over and over. It’s not happening in build mode, I can select wallpaper, tiles, etc. And it works fine. I thought it could’ve been an issue with my controller (I’m playing on PS4) so this weekend, I got a wireless keyboard and mouse. I work 40+ hours a week and usually only get to play on the weekends. Worked for a few minutes and now I’m having the same issue. Is anyone else experiencing this? Or have you? What can I do to remedy this??
