Sims can't own 2 lots, they can visit the different worlds though. They can visit the other worlds though.

Thank you for your quick reply!
Even though I've played lots of Sims in the past, (Sims 1, 2, 3,) I have only been playing Sims 4 for a couple months and still trying to get grips on how the basic mechanics work. I've worked so hard creating many of my own characters and don't want to "lose" them by breaking the game if I do something silly.

You can always create a back up: http://sims4.crinrict.com/en/2014/09/backups/ and test the game, so you can place the back up back if something really goes wrong.
Other than that, not saving works very well.

Ok, thanks for the link, too. I read the related ones.
Funny, I actually do save my important files in another folder and/or external HD nearly everyday before I start to play for the day, I just forgot I could go to that if I messed the game up. My tray file is one of the three main files I save no matter what, but I am intimidated to ever have to go in there and try to match up (by date created) any of my Sims or Lots individually.
But thanks also for the reminder of "not saving" if it suddenly goes upside down. I forgot that was an option. cheers.
