Canceling commands

My Sims are deleting even more commands than usual in the past few days. Make pancakes? Nah, let’s toss around this stupid paper airplane, then take 15 minutes to put it somewhere and walk back to the kitchen. So go to school without eating, come home starving b/c apparently they can’t eat at school.
Go to the bathroom? Nah let’s read a random book or go stare at a plant.
Sleep? Nope. Gets up immediately. Takes 3 tries before they stay asleep. God forbid I try to change or feed a baby. That’s downright  impossible, it changes the commands to ‘chat with baby’, or put them on the floor and walks off.
I don’t need a SpongeBob SquarePants pack. I need the basics of this game to work.
