Cannot pick [furnished] option when trying in to move in to a new apartment

Hello,

I searched for an answer for this question, but didn't find any helpful ones.

I'm trying to move a new family I just created to any apartment in City Living, but it doesn't allow me to pick furnished option when trying to move them in. It says that "This option is not available for the current lot"

Why not though? How can I fix this?

Thanks

  • @Ryooner94 This is most likely because the previous Sims that lived there died. Load the apartment in manage worlds/build mode and replace a single item. As in, delete a stove and place down a new one.

Then leave build mode and move your family in. This won't reset the apartment value however, you will just pay for the stove.

    The apartment will be furnished.

When I go to build mode for the apartment, it takes me to the apartment while it’s still unfurnished.

In normal display, the apartment looks furnished, but when I hover over it and it shows me the prices and other information, it tells me that Furnishings: 0$.

so it is unfurnished by default?

@Ryooner94 Did you choose the unfurnished option or did you move a sim out of the lot and kept the furniture? If a sim Died there, the lot will be furnished, and the above solution will fix it.

If you moved a sim out of that apartment and took all the furnishings, the apartment will always be empty.

I do not remember moving a sim out of that apartment. The method you mentioned worked on all the apartments where previous sims residents died. Except for this apartment. It looked furnished in preview, but when I got in build mode, it was empty.

@Ryooner94 If you want the original furnishings for the apartment, you can always load a new game, go to that apartment in build mode. You must delete the doorway walls to make the whole apartment one room, then save it to your library (gallery? I am uncertain what it is called on PC for your personal builds).

Once you have saved the lot as a single room, go back to your original save and place the lot from your library(gallery) into place.

Replace the doorway walls and doors. Your apartment should be back to default in your original game, and you can move your sims in to a furnished apartment.
