Can't buy books

Have you tried buying them on the computer? Also, did you turn off mods with the update, because that can make it finicky.

What exactly happens when you try to buy them ? Does nothing show up ? Do you get routing failures ? There are a few bookcases (the small table ones) that have a known issue.

When I try to buy them, it opens up a menu so that I can select what I want, and I can select the books I want (in this case I'm trying to buy high school homework books because they have disappeared from my teens inventory), but there is no option to make the purchase. I think I can explain it better in a screen shot. The menu for purchasing books pops up too low on my screen. And, if you look at what I circled, it shows the total cost as 999,999,999 Simoleans. And, even if I had that much money, I wouldn't be able to purchase because I can't get to the purchase button. I've tried to drag the "purchase books" window up so that I could get to the button, but the window won't drag. Other times the interaction to buy books gets canceled altogether. But I will try what you mentioned above.

I repaired the game, and it worked. I added my mods, and it still worked. I guess it's been solved. Thank you for your help!
