cant find ep .world files

I was in the prosess of downloading a mod that changes the sky (clouds, lights, stars and so on). It said i had to replace the .world files. So for example a .world file in the base game called GD_GardenCommunity_01_LL.world to be changed with the modded version. My problem in this is that i can`t find the worlds for the expantion packs i have. The base game world is there, with all the areas, but none of the expansion pack worlds...

My game is running just fine, and all my packs are in game, i just can`t find the .world files for the EP`s.

The mod i`m talking about is this one: https://brntwaffles.tumblr.com/post/158034487472

  • @TirilHodne Hi!  I'm not familiar with the mod you're talking about and the link you shared just took me to the tumblr page.  I would advise exercising extreme caution with regard to modifying game files like this.  Make sure you have backups of your game before doing anything.  I found the file you mentioned in this path.

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4\Data\Shared\Worlds\Areas

    Good luck. :-)

  • I backed up my game yes, but my issue is that i canf fint the expansion pack files for worlds and areas...

@TirilHodne Did you look in the path I mentioned?  I found the GD_GardenCommunity file in there.  Also, if you use file explorer to navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4 then you should be able to search for your files in the TS4 folder.

In this example, I just searched on the beginning part of the filename GD_GardenCommunity and the file came up in results right away.

  • Yes i looked in that path, i already found that file. That file belongs to the base game worlds, i cant find my EP worlds, and those files would have a different file name.

@TirilHodne So you mean you don't know the names of the files?  I used file explorer to search .world and I think that found them all.
