Can't get Gold in Actor Career

To get gold you must use risky performance at least once and it must be successful. Look for something that you know you have high skill in such as Dancing, Singing or whatever Notice that even the "safe" can fail if you do not have enough skill in it. Also notice that having low acting skills means you will fail more.

That's what I was trying to do, actually. I maxed out my acting skill and would make sure to take jobs with my highest skills so that all the performances would be things my sim was good at. It still leaves me just short of gold. It has happened 8 times in a row now. I even tried taking jobs with lower pay, assuming that they'd require less skill and be easier to get gold in. 

Look at which of your performances fail (bar doesn't increase).

I get the same problem. during the actual shoot i do all the task and get gold but i can’t complete my master actress aspiration... i’m pretty sure i get gold cause on the top left for the task i can see a gold coin symbol. any idea how?

Are you sure you got gold? Does it say that your sim got gold when you finish the gig? To get gold at least one risky performance are required and must succeed. Have you fulfilled the goal to be level 10 in acting?

I am having the same issue. At this point in time I am suspecting that the gig I have chosen is not a "Movie" acting gig. I thought I was choosing the correct one but I could be mistaken. I am currently working on this now. I just performed the "detective" one and recieved gold. However the aspiration did not take credit. I am going to try a different one next. I will update if I find a certain one that works. Unless you already know...?

Ok.... so I just found this (weblink and screenshots will be attached).... it could be helpful for others. As of now, I am going to stick with my original suspicions of my issue; that being I am not choosing the right gig. However, I have yet to see any of the "movie" gigs pop in my list options. After it does, I will give one a go and update further.

Ok, so for my situation, I would say that I just was not choosing the proper gig. I had to wait 1 sim day after completing the previous gig before any "movie" options showed up. I chose the tournament of honor gig even though there was a few "movie" ones to chose from. I did my normal routine of completing the prep tasks, completing every on-set task available and got into hair and make-up as well as costume before talking to the director to start shooting scenes. And as she always has (she has never failed), she successfully performed "risky" on every shoot. She recieved gold and she completed the Master Actress/Actor aspiration!! Woot woot!

So for fellow simmers struggling, my first suggestion is to make sure you are choosing a "movie" gig. From what I gather they advertise to be a $6k+ pay out. My sim recieved $11,483.
