Cow/Llama stuck in household inventory. Unable to reassign to shed.

This has happened multiple times over months. I 'move household' and have the sim same her inventory. when rebuilding on new lot, I can not reassign the llama and cow to the sheds. There image will be faded out, but they continue to show in household inventory and do not emerge from the shed. I even tried trading them for meat during this status. I could repeat this process and receive meat for the cow, while not actually losing the cow. It would stay in the faded state in my household inventory. 

I started a new lot, new sim, new sheds, new cow and llama. I sold both animals before having her move and that worked fine. But I am unable to reassign existing animals to the shed upon moving. Please fix! Months ago I experienced taking a cow to the hensford fair and could not reassign it to the shed upon returning home. The sheds need some work. (And cows and llamas should be free roaming like the rest of the animals while still returning to the shed for rest.)
