I just installed the newest career and christmas holyday update, and then this problem started. It seems that things involved with the new stuff, careers have codes instead of text, but "old text" is still text, so its selective.
I am in Norway.
I have english (US i think) in the game
Origin is in english.
I have not used any mods, the only code(s) I have ever used are motherlode and katching (and if this is a mode, and I guess I have used mods), but thought this was only cheatcodes and not modes (but I don't know computerstuff like this)
I have no idea of how to find the date of the language file!! As I said, don't know stuff about computers.
I had no issues with Pool and Ghosts udate. Only this one. But I don't know if the game was fine after the career update and that this happened with the holiday pack. I instaled both stuff at the same time.
I tried the repair button when right clicking the game, and it did not work. It still has codes. I tried restarting the computer, but the codes are still there.
I don't really have a problem loosing most of my households, there is only one of many that I have that I am attached to, and I am wondering if I will loose the households if I uninstal and reinstal the game?
I did this once. I installed the game when I first got the game in the mail. I by accident selected my own language in the game, and I started it, and made a household, and I could not live with the language, ever since the game came out, I have played it in english, and it was just horrible to not have it in english. And to be able to change the language, I had to uninstall and reinstall the game (which was easy, clicked uninstal in origin, and then clicked the pitcure of the game and clicked download, and it was reinstaled), and that first household I made was still there although I thought it would dissapear.
The reason I ask about this is, as I said I am attached to one of the houses holds, I just uploaded that one into the community hoping that if it is in the cloud that it will survive if everything else is removed.
And I am just wondering if things will dissapear? And what about all the updates that have come out since I got the game, will they be installed again? Or will I loose them? And the holiday pack that I "bought"?
It might be stupid questions, but it said that you had to make a backup everything and put it back into the right place again, whatever that is suppose to mean!
As I said I do not do computer stuff beyond really basic stuff, and what it said about creating the backup, I have no idea of how to do it, and I was hoping everything would be fine if I did not do the backup!
