Curved ends on counters in Sims4

How can you get the counters in Sims4 to have curved ends?  I've tried everything I can think up but I can't get curved ends on my counters.  Even hitting "e" in build mode on a curved end only gets me a square end.  On a separate topic, why can't I find previous posts on the forums?  I should be able to type in my UN and go right to my previous posts in order to see if there's any replies.  I'm going to check back in a day or two and I better be able to find this post and any replies!

  • @librlh8ter, first, the way I find previous posts is to log in on this site and then in the upper right corner there should be (above your avatar) your screenname with a downward arrow -- click on that and select "Profile".  You will see on the right hand side of the page a list of "Recent Activity", but this also includes posts you just looked at (and not necessarily what you have posted on); however, if you scroll to the bottom of that list, on the right side there is a button that says "View All" ... this will take you to a list that shows all the posts you have replied to!  🙂

Also, right before you submit a post, you can checkmark the little box (next to the Preview & Submit boxes) that says "Subscribe to replies". This will send an email notification to you if anyone replies to your post. 😉

As for the curved counters, only some of the counter types allow for curved counters. I think these are usually only some of the counter islands (that you would use with stools) and not regular counters.

But, in order to use this feature, in Build/buy Mode click on the kitchen tab and you will notice that underneath the picture of bar stools and a plant is the words "Auto counters" and a box to the right of that that either says on or off.  (On will be in green, and off will be in red).  To use the custom counter feature (and enable round counters on islands that offer them) you need to make sure that Auto Counters is toggled to the Off position!  Then select you counter type and click on the colored bars that let you pick the color of your counters --- this allows both the color swatches to be shown and chosen and the counter type to be chosen.  To the left of the expanded color swatch menu there should be a wrench (spanner) and gear that you can click on to also turn off and on the Auto Counters.  If the Auto Counters are turned off, then to the left of tool icon there will be a drawing of counter configurations, from which you can choose different types!

Some counter types in the base game that allow for curved counters are as follows:

    S. Cargeaux Counter Island

    Tall Order Vintage Counter Island

    Harbinger Island

    VAULT Modular Island

You can also use this feature on the overhead cabinets too! 😇  Some overhead cabinets might even have glass fronts, depending on the type of cabinet! 😎  Play around till you get the look you want. 🥳.

Below are some pictures of some things you can do with the Harbinger counters and cabinets (I don't have any with the islands so no curves in the pictures, but I indluded these to show some other types you might have not known you could to.  The final picture is with a cabinet that was included with the Parenthood Game Pack showing how different some of these counters and cabinets can be!

Please feel free to update us on if you have any problems or questions (or show us pictures of some kitchens you designed with these features! ) :eahigh_file:

    Happy Simming! 🥳

Deselect Auto counters then you can select curves yourself.

@librlh8ter, I'm glad you got it to work! :eahigh_file: (I was worried that I hadn't explained it clearly!) 😃

When I turn off "Auto Counters", I don't get the icon with the options for different sizes and shapes of counters. I tried the repair function in the game. Still doesnn't work.
