Don't Sell Rented properties

So I just go Sims 4 for Rent. I have been waiting on this game to turn Newcrest into one of my legacy sims town. I was so excited. However after 2 weeks I still hadn't been paid on 4 rented properties on 2 different land sites. I looked into it and thought maybe selling the rented properties and re-buying them through the phone might work. I sold the lots, but I did not get my money back! I have been playing this person for a while. Since she was a teen. Not cheats. I just lost around 200,000 simoleons! she can now only buy back one of the properties and is now broke. I'm gutted. I know I can just go back to a previous save but still! This is such a glitchy game and I am hugely disappointed.

  • @9cb36ee2bf45997c I’ve sold 5 properties with different families and NEVER get paid for it. So disappointing. Also way too many “events” at rental properties, even though I’ve turned off events

For anyone seeing this issue can I check a couple of things just to see what's happening when selling rental properties? Are you selling using the Business Tab in the bottom left hand corner of the screen? Then you should get a message saying how much the property will sell for. If your Sim lives on the premises they will then revert to being a tenant and someone else can buy the lot. Can I ask if the pop up shows you a price like the attached second image please?

If you're playing landlords you've created yourself could you possibly try this with a landlord created by the game? I did this with the Cahyaputri household. I got a pop up telling me how much they'd earn from the sale, I accepted that and then automatically I was sent to Manage Worlds. I got 2 different households I'd created to buy the property and sell it the same way and it worked, everybody got paid. It may be that there's an issue with new landlords, this would help narrow it down. Any images of the problem from your game would be really useful too.

It can also be helpful to reinstall For Rent. I had to do that recently as I had an issue paying bills as a tenant. I also found that for some reason, a tenancy works better if you move into a lot using the phone.

Also if anyone is having problems collecting rent there's a bug report here if you'd like to click Me Too on the first post on page 1 and add a reply if you'd like to do so, you should be prompted by a bug template to complete.

There's another report here for the rental events toggle Off not working.
