I selected “view” (as it had the even icon next to it). After a couple minutes doing that it completed the objective for me.

I had the same issue! Try the view option and let them watch the object for an insanely long period of time. That should be working, good luck! ☺️

I set the time to triple speed and it seemed to help.

Yep you are right it ticked off after an hour or so in game. My apologies.

No need to apologise, good luck with the rest of the quest! :)

i fully expect nothing to work as it should. i open the sims 4 filled with disappointment and frustration :/

If it helps, it may only work with paintings. That's what happened to me. I tried to view a sculpture for at least 4 hours in game. Only worked after I switched to viewing a painting

I have the same problem but having them view for hours and hours isn’t working. 😭

Really? Darn, this hasn't worked for me. I viewed two sculptures and an art piece and it never marked it off. I stayed so long my sim fell asleep and it hasn't worked yet.
