Emit Relevart returned to my game?

Okay, today, Emit Relevart from the "Blast From the Past" event returned to my game to revisit his relationship with my SIM, for whom he had a relationship and child. She is now living with someone else, but since he had a key to my home, he just walked in and questioned our relationship boundaries. I take issue as he had disappeared! What is going on? 

I had to reload, and I am not sure if he will show up again, or if it was just a fluke. Has anyone else experienced an unexpected return of Emit?
