stat cheats usually do require a mod and won't work on vanilla.
The traits one should work without anything so I gave those a test and they were added right away for me
Did you put testing cheats for the cas.fulledit one ? If you usually use a mod for testing cheats, that might explain why that didn't work.
Promotion also worked for detective with: careers.promote detective. It also does require testingcheats though
