Food Spoiling Too Fast

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:Sony Playstation 4
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? What?
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? None
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I don't know what you're asking.
What happens when the bug occurs? Food in fridge is spoiling super quick
What do you expect to see? I expect to see the food not spoil just hours after making it and putting it in the fridge.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? On console - never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

I've looked in several threads where people had similar issues, and nothing that was recommended has worked. I've bought a new fridge, it's still doing it. There are no witches, no DLCs/expansions applied, no cheats. I'm just on the base game. :/

    Hi Always_Bored_XP,

    What that part of the form is asking is for you to fill out what happened when the bug occurred, and how you reproduced it. This should include information

    relevant to the issue - for example, what dishes are spoiling.


    An example of how to fill this out would be like this:

    Have a sim cook [dish here], which says it spoils in [amount of time here]. Place dish in the refrigerator (tested with [the refrigerator used here]). Refrigerator says the food will now spoil in [amount of time here]. Food spoils faster than expected.

    If you can try to reproduce the issue and fill out the information in a similar way, we can help you much better 🙂

    @Always_Bored_XP Does the timer count down faster than it's says or does it just go suddenly bad when you check ? Does it also happen if you don't put the food in the fridge ?

    Does it happen to any fridge/food ?

    What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Discover University, Cats & Dogs, Vampires, Tiny Living, Laundry Day, Bowling Night, and Movie Hangout.
    Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? - Make a meal for more than one person - Put in fridge and wait a day or so and it’ll immediately go bad
    What happens when the bug occurs? When I have a Sim make a meal for the family and put it in the fridge, it expires/spoils the day of or after being made.
    What do you expect to see? Food should expire/spoil within the correct amount of time: I believe it’s 6 or 7 days.
    Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? On console - never used.

    No, it doesn’t matter what fridge you use. I’ve already tried buying better and new ones and it still bugs out.

    @PSYKADELIX98 Could you start a fresh save for testing and see if it happens there to or if it's limited to a certain save game ?

    Please also check a different household.
