100% agree.
A freed Baking Skill in Base Game further helps with organization of the Cooking Menu and clears up any confusion between the Baking and Cooking skills.
If one doesn't own Get To Work, their Sims COOK a Pumpkin Pie from Cottage Living and COOK a Honey Cake from Seasons. These recipes only skill up the Cooking Skill.
If one owns Get To Work, the Baking menu is added, however baked goods are now split between the Baking menu and the Cooking menu. This split of baked good recipes is unorganized, defies logic, and creates confusion especially for brand new Simmers. To add to the confusion, preparing non-Get-To-Work baked good recipes still only skills up the Cooking Skill.
Because baked goods are featured across a multitude of packs, it would be beneficial to have the Baking Skill as a Base Game function.
Examples of the baked goods across DLC:
- Honey Cake, Seasons
- Coconut Cake, Island Living
- Matcha Cake, Snowy Escape
- Milk Bread, Cottage Living
- Blueberry+ Pie, Cottage Living
- Sugar Free Carob Coconut Cake, Spa Day
- Zombie Cake, Spooky Stuff
- Rainbow Brownies, High School Years
- Wedding Cakes, My Wedding Stories
